Thank you for this, Terzer. When used with mod that adds Shield Wall to Romans, the troops hold BOTH the sword and the pilum in one hand. Can you advise how I might correct that? I assume there's a table defining what weapon is used in that stance but I cannot locate it. Thanks.

When I use it on vanilla there is no shield wall option. When I try it on DEI, there is shield wall, but when I enable it, nothing happens, the legionares still carry their spears.
Maybe you have other mods, conflicting with it?

I have had to adapt it to go with my Roman skins (removing your variant definitions adding the pilum as Weapon 1 on mine), so maybe that causes the issue.

Not as long the check box in the variant editor is checked. Sometimes is buggy.
Also make sure you changed the man_animation row in land_units_tables\land_units.

Or maybe it's a game engine fault, something in the shield wall animation or table... Don't know
I'm out of ideas I cannot recreate your mod situation.

No, my mods are TWC "exclusive". I don't like steam, never have, TWC has more focused fan base.

Hi terzer! Many thanks for your amazing mod! That's like a Legionnaires should be.
One question. I try it with DeI and I have this bug:



Legionnaires keep pilum, but incorrectly, down the isle.
Should I make some changes in files after putting your mod in data path?

Hi, you're probably using another mod, which causes conflict, there is no way the units to carry their pila upside down. My mod adds only the animation, it doesn't change the pila model and holder.
I remember there was a fire at will mod a while ago. the legionares carried their pila like in your screenshot.

Disable all mods except mine to see if there is conflict. If there is none, make sure you're using latest DEI. Or try to make it yourself using the little tutorial I provided.
