    SABOTAGE!

The Arab columns loyal to Malta are fighting a pitched battle against the citizens of its capital, who have taken up arms against the Maltese government.
The people have been gathering in knots for the past few days, getting together and planning something. The spies could not gather anything, and nobody anticipated the level of violence that erupted suddenly.
As armed mobs killed officials and soldiers, taking over govt buildings, the Arabs were called in to deal with them.
Many hours later, the Arabs begin to retreat. The people are too mad and violent to be beaten or contained.

An unknown saboteur has triggered a successful revolt in the capital region of Malta. The target region goes back to rebel control. Rhinelander will get a -1 penalty point in the next turn and it applies to everything that he does that turn including agent missions. He needs to fix a new capital.

    ATTEMPTED ASSASSINATION!

A dead body is lying in a street in the new capital of York. From the looks of it, it is looking like the man has been tortured before being killed.
Some curious onlookers have gathered around it and are busy gossipping.
“Looks like a foreigner, he does.”
“Dunno who did that to him.”
    “Robbers? Thugs?”
“Nah, looks like he spent a night in the dungeons…..ordinary goons can’t do all this.”
“Dungeons, eh? Do ya think it was an enemy agent?”
“Could be, we have too many enemies.”
    “Hmmmm. Saboteur or assassin?”
“Methinks assassin. He looks like a professional killer. Look at his face!”
    “Professional killers have different faces?”
    “Methinks so.”
Finally, the crowd gets bored and moves off. Some guards arrive and take the body away to prevent the people from knowing his identity. Little do they know that they have guessed rightly already.

An unknown assassin has tried to unsuccessfully kill the Faction Leader of York.

The barons are happy that justice has been served. But now they must look at their border defences. Use my moves to build a fort in a region bordering Turkestan (one that does not have a river as a border). If i have any moves left use it to attack rebel regions within my borders.

    ATTEMPTED SABOTAGE!

Some Arabs are stoning to death a man, in public.
The town-crier screams, “By the order of the Leader Signore di Suaressi! This man is convicted of treason! He came to trigger a revolt here! To preach nonsense to our people! To tell us that we do not need this government! He was caught in his miserable attempt! He is hereby to be executed!”
The people around, pick up stones from the ground. They join the Arab guards in throwing them at the condemned saboteur.

An unknown saboteur has unsuccessfully tried to create a revolt in the capital region of Malta.

    SABOTAGE!

Voltaire is pacing up and down in his tent.
He furiously turns around and addresses Rousseau.
“So now it is those fools? What has gotten into these people?”
“Nothing, Voltaire. They are falling prey to anyone who comes along and spouts nonsense.”
“Even if he preaches rebellion? Sedition? Treason?”
“This is why we invented the guillotine, mon ami! You can’t stop such people or the fools from listening to them. So, vive le guillotine! We will reconquer that region along with all the others. Order and the Republic will be restored.”
    “I sure hope so.”

An unknown saboteur has triggered a successful revolt in a region of France. The target region goes back to rebel control.

    ATTEMPTED ASSASSINATION!

Victorioso di Suaressi, the Faction Leader of Malta, is talking with some merchants regarding the purchase of their wares.
He is continuously observing the servant boy of one of the merchants. At last, he asks, “Why are you so nervous and fidgety, boy?”
The merchant answers politely, “He is new, My Lord. He has come into your presence for the first time, and therefore he is nervous.”
di Suaressi is not convinced. H signals his guards secretly. Two burly men arrive and grab the boy by his shoulders, dragging him away. Two more men do the same to the merchant.
Hours later, the Captain of the Guard arrives and bows before di Suaressi. “You were right, My Lord. They were indeed assassins, but we could not discover who sent them. The boy gave way under torture and died. The man swallowed poison he had kept hidden with him. It was the boy’s first assignment, so he couldn’t hide his nervousness.”
The Faction Leader smiles in contempt. “So he thought he could use that poison on me? Well, the poison has reached where it rightly belonged! Hah!”

An unknown assassin has tried to unsuccessfully kill the Faction Leader of Malta.

    Default Re: European Wars VIII

    Turn 102 (1531 AD)

Duchy of Yorkshire (Flavius Aemilianus Finnicus)

[6] The rebels holding Leeds give in to the professional army led by William of Canterbury. They surrender upon his arrival, followed by mass executions of the rebels.
You gain 1 Prestige point. You are able to do 2 moves each with a +1 bonus point.

    Kingdom of Castile (Spartan999)

1 region in France taken by Malta. See Malta results.
[3+1=4] The Castilians taking military access from Tingis attack the Maltese land (Malta did not have lands anywhere else except Africa last turn). The bombards go full force and the infantry charges following the artillery attack. The Maltese lose numbers greatly and go under.
[6+1=7] The missionary is welcomed by the natives who have thought over what he had said last time. They agree to his religious beliefs finding them suitable to themselves.
    [2] Two regions are sighted!
You gain 1 Prestige point. You are able to do 2 moves each with a +1 bonus point.
You can send 3 missionaries next time.

    The Great Bohemian Empire (Chudada)

1 Region taken by France. See also France results.
[6] The region taken by the French is assaulted once more. The archers fire deep in to the French ranks and inflict heavy casualties including senior officers. The French are forced to retreat but with more casualties as the Bohemian cavalry pursues them and cuts down the stragglers.
You gain 1 Prestige point. You are able to do 2 moves each with a +1 bonus point.

Imperium Romanum Occidentalis (Western Roman Empire) (Richard of Gloucester)

    {I have moved north into the only remaining rebel region as “into the he taken region in the alps” was not clear to me. Did you mean the green regions (Chudada’s? In that case are you declaring war on Bohemia?) Once you specify which region you exactly meant, I can change it on the map.}
[5] The Romans’ approach scares away the handful of the defenders. The town is surrendered.
You are able to do 2 moves.

    Patatje Joppie Clan (Speedlion)

[4+1-1 (river crossing penalty)=4] The Joppie reinforcements add to their already waiting ranks and attack the city. The Numenoreans put up a stout defence but with Boromir away are beaten easily. The ailing King is imprisoned and the Joppie flags start flying from the battlements.
The city needs to be refurbished for you to use its (fresh) guild and prestige. This city was not Numenor’s capital as Legolas had built in a region of his and not in his capital region.
You are able to do 1 move.

The Granadine Sultanate of Egypt (Cyrene)

[4] The Hejaz Sultanate bows to Abdul. Some of its more patriotic men put up a fight but are easily crushed by the Granadine battalions.
    You have 1 move.

    Kingdom of Finland (Sleeping Bear)

[5+2=7] Super Talinner spills the beans on the Arztotskan defences. +1 attack.
[1+2=3] Don’t bother this guy. He still needs much to learn.
[3+1=4] The attack carries….the Arztotskan defences are overrun and the garrison stormed into death and submission.
[6] The explorer finds the topography of the island to be very suitable to the Finnish.
[6] This one figures out the lay of the land quite fast as he loves exploring.
You have 2 spies next time. You can use 2 explorers next time and one will have a +1 bonus point.
You are able to do 1 move.

The Confederation of United Baronies (NomNoms)

[2] Work is slow as the materials required took a long time to reach.
[3] The workers get the materials and begin construction. They need to pick up speed though. +1 to building again.
[6+1=7] It is completed! It is a Citadel. This city made of stone and iron will give -3 penalty points to any attack on this region and a -1 penalty point on any spying missions on this region.
You are able to do 1 move.

Ordre de Saint-Jean de Jérusalem/Malteserorden (Rhinelander)

You have lost your capital to a successful sabotage last turn. You will get a -1 penalty point now and it applies to everything that he you now including agent missions. You need to fix a new capital.
1 region in Africa taken by Castile. See Castile results.
One large fleet in Central Med: lost 6/8 ships.
Other large fleet in Central Med: lost 5/8 ships.
[5-1=4] The Maltese land in Perpignan and make short work of the Castilians (not Portuguese). Their defences fall and they retreat to the next region under their control.
You are able to do 1 move.

    Eastern Roman Empire (Byzantium) (AntonisTheGreek)

[2] The fleet is experiencing some technical difficulties and is unable to sail.
You are able to do 1 move.

    Protectorate of Decinryos (Ikaroqx)

[1+1=2] The Arabs surround the palisade and keep firing into it. The men continue to huddle inside, unable to face the shower of arrows.
You are able to do 1 move.

    United States of Japan (Librarian)

[2-1=1] A ferocious storm has prevented work or sailing of the fleet. {It was not clear to me whether “I said go down with the fleet” meant sail with your fleet or build it, since you wanted both in one of your earlier moves}.
You are able to do 1 move. If you attempt to construct a fleet again, you’ll have a -1 penalty point.

    Polish Commonwealth (Everto)

[4] The Poles score their first victory……the weak Easterners surrender to King Andrzej.
    You have 1 move.

La Republique de France! (Kirila the Kitten)

1 region near Normandy lost to successful sabotage.
[6+1=7] Citizen-General Antoine is fast proving to be Voltaire’s favourite….one more of his charges drives the Bohemian infantry willy-nilly from the field. However, the same region is regained by the Bohemians. See Bohemia results above.
[6+1=7] Paris is regained! The garrison is so exhausted and depleted in fighting the Bohemians that not much strength is left to face the French.
You can continue using your guild and prestige from now on.
You gain 2 Prestige points. You are able to do 3 moves.

    Medium Khaganate of Turkestan (The_Hibernian)

[1] He got caught and executed.
[2] Same fate for this spy as well.
[1] The Armenians once more attack in hordes and trample the Yogurties under the hoofs of their equally innumerable horses. [6] They advance further and one more region is taken by them.
[6+1=7] Finally! The BanAllMilk Brothers are silenced……by the endless sermonizing of a whole battalion of priests sent for this purpose. The natives are convinced of the superior might of the Holy Trinity of Milk, Cheese and Yogurt and gladly give up their barbaric lactose-intolerant ways. Saparmurat (happily) orders execution of all the remaining adherents, clerics and monks of the Lactose Intolerance Church and their buildings and churches destroyed.
You are able to use 3 missionaries next time.
You are unable to make a move this turn. Check Turn 100 results.

The Democratic Peoples’ Republic of Zolland (Emperor PooMan)

You have already taken the Balearics in Turn 100. Move wasted……
You are able to do 1 move.

Republic of Laraish and Tingis (Ciloron)

    No move posted.
You are able to do 1 move.
    States of Baltica (Historian Vegetius)
    No move posted.
    You have 1 move.
    New Numenor (LegolasGreenleaf)
No move posted. You are able to do 1 move.
