Default Pathfinding issues - Oppidum siege

    Hi everyone !

First I wish you all happy new year, full of victories and happiness, in the ancient times and in real life
I finally succeded to install RS 2.6 (thanks Steam, I had to go back to CD version), and started a 1-turn campaign with the Arverni. My first target was Aginnon, and so I gathered 2000 men at their gates. It's a huge oppidum with three levels.
I made my way through the first wall with my battering rams, then my troops came in. And there started the chaos

I had huge troubles manoeuvering my troops into the oppidum, when I clicked on the upper level, my men tried to walk through the wall, not along... Imagine 1000 men facing wood walls and bumping into each other
It was impossible to regroup an entire unit, because some men remained blocked against the fences, an the other men wanted to join them if I didn't clicked on the right area on the map. I tried to make them move by small steps to go around the walls but even with patience; the pathfinding was erratic. The AI was sadly good at avoiding these issues !

I should have make some screenshots, but that was so confusing I forgot. I didn't find anything lie this in the forum, is it a known problem ? Or may be the Aginnon map is bugged ?
Anyway I'm really enjoying myself with this mod Thanks in advance for you help !

That is not the correct launcher, but the 2.5.
The good one should look like this:

    That's strange ^^

I remember having errors unzipping the patch with Winrar, and after checking the launcher file is empty.
I'm going to download the patch again to compare

The first time I took the modDb file (99,9MB) and this time I tried the Winrar link : 112MB.
After the installation, my launcher is OK, according to ferike's one

I'll try a siege batlle to check if the pathfinding is better (and I hope my savegame will be compatible ^^)

Is it a steam version ? Do you have access to the RS menus after that ?

non steam, yes have the rs menus after that .
did i clean install for 2.5 and my pc got bezerk after i try to play from shortcut.
when looking at properties i am admin and my desktop shortcut
    says target:"D:\games\RSII\launcher\Roma Surrectum II.exe"
    starts at D:\games\RSII\Data\UI\WONDERS????

i know that is wrong, installed rs2.5 in D:games/RSII thats the good path so i don't know anymore
launcher in the files works like it should, but can't open preferences on the launcher

how to take pictures from the launcher like you did??

strange, now with 2.6patch installed it works sort off.
the launcher is now 2.6 ver 1.3.3 so the correct one
but the UI/WONDERS thing is still there
and the -show_err -nm -movie_cam keeps going back to just -show_err on the desktop launcher
and thats wrong also iff i remember correct, with that you get the epic RS intro movie but after that also the vanilla one.

Don't use winrar for this, I suggest 7zip. It works much better with unpacking stuff.

OK guys, just to get some light in the darknes :

There are two different compressed version 's of this patch, one with 7zip and one with WinRar.
Read or re-read the first post, line by line:

Thanks ferike ! Indeed it was written, I didn't think 7zip and winrar formats were that different !

Did you succeed into playing tungri ? My launcher also loses my preferences each time (videos, high res units), and I too have the BI intro movie. However RS 2.6 works perfectly after that

I found the 7Zip version unpacked much better than the winrar version. I suggest you try the 7Zip version.

Winrar is life, anyways, I used the Winrar one and it's completely fine, Launcher and all. It even has 2.6 in the corner and all that good stuff
