This thread is in response to a question by Bloody Mess in the Pack File Manager thread on the Rome II Modding Forum. To avoid diverting a thread about Rome II modding into a discussion of ETW modding, I will continue that conversation here.

You don't need to use the main Additional Units Mod, if you would like to just use the graphics pack.

You asked whether any PFM works for ETW and NTW. I can edit mods for ETW using PFM 1.5.3 which is a feature of husserlTW's EasyDB resource. (If you start EasyDB, you can select PFM from the options along the top to start PFM 1.5.3.). This works for editing some existing mods, but there are two problems: (1) it crashes when attempting to edit some mods and (2) it crashes when I attempt to extract any database table (to make a mod) except unit_stats_land and unit_stats_naval.

I wonder if there is an ideal PFM to use for ETW and NTW - presumably this would be a PFM somewhere in between version 1.5.3 and 3.2.1? Since this is the Rome II Modding Forum, I'll re-post this on the ETW Modding Forum to see if ETW modders can advise on this (and to avoid going off topic on this thread).
Do you mod Empire: Total War? Do you use a Pack File Manager? Have you experienced problems trying to mod ETW using the latest version of PFM? If so, did you solve them - and how? Is there a different version of PFM which works better for ETW (many versions are available via a link from the first post of the Pack File Manager thread in the Rome II modding workshop).
