Default Is Rome II worth getting?

Ive got alot of other total war games and really enjoy them but i hear alot of bad things about rome 2. Is it worth paying the money for or should i just wait now for Attila?

Its good and worth getting I think, but attila is going to be better hopefully. However as we dont know that its safer to go for Rome 2 With DeI 1.0

As for now it is definitely not worse than other titles, maybe except for Shogun which was the most polished game in the series.

Really, it is more question of a personal preference. If you aren't excited about the era, you may as well wait for Attila. Gonna be the same thing but with vikings. And with no segmentata legionaries.

If you have been hovering around here for weeks wondering because you love the era then definitely yes, dont let them put you off.

if you are only vaguely interested then better to wait for atilla

Depends on what you seek in a TW game. If you want realism and immersion, this isn't the title for you, and never will be. If you want a fun, arcade experience that has seen a great deal of improvement since release as well as partake in the modding scene, then by all means pick it up on an upcoming Christmas sale on Steam. For me, personally there are core features in the game that no patch or mod can "fix", which fundamentally turn me off from this title, such as lack of meaningful province and character development. But I can see how this game can deliver meritable gameplay for some, especially after a year of updates, mod overhauls and DLC's.

I can enjoy the game, but wouldn't pay £30 for it, which I think is the going price on Steam. I'd be surprised if it doesn't go on sale at some point in the next few weeks/month so I'd recommend holding off on it and grabbing it at a discount.

Thanks for all the feedback i have been watching alot of videos on it and like the era alot so i'll probably wait for a steam sale like the christmas one and get it then

Unless you prefer your game with a lot of the strategic depth and historical immersion stripped out, I reckon your best bet is to hold on until the release of Attila. If they release a finished game it might be worth buying at that point. Or if it's in the same state as Rome 2, you can wait til it hits the sales.

Yes, it is pretty fun. But, if you waited so long might as well wait for a steam sale.

    No, it's not worth it.
The game development business is one of bottomless greed, pitiless cruelty, venal treachery, rampant competition, low politics and boundless personal ambition. New game series are rising, and others are starting their long slide into obscurity and defeat.

No... the campaign is awful... the combat is childish (For every action there is an equal and opposite re-action.) however this fundamental law of nature seems to have somehow gotten misslayed so to units have the same mass in battle? Oh, and the UI is... well we all know whet the UI is... Go back and play ROTS it is a far better though smaller game even better if you use one of the many mods out there.

If i buy its definitely not going to be for full price as i know it is not one of the greatest total war games.

If you are into the multiplayer campaign aspect this is the best total war yet, if you are into the singleplayer total war, this will not be as good.

Wait for Attila for singleplayer, if you already waited this long.

Wait for at least a 50% sale. Preferably a 75% one.

I would spend your £30.00 on Nivea for Men products as there shower gels are awesome and facial creams really do rehydrate your skin just like your namesake.

This conversation was more satisfying and enjoyable than playing Rome 2!
