Which Total War Soundtracks do you like best,

There are no general rules

So the Pre-Battle tracks are supposed to be there to get you really pumped before battle and naturally they should be really good. Here are 2 songs that accomplish that for me. I hear this music and what started as just that one battle before I take another province gradually turns into the epic movie battle I was dreaming of just by hearing these tracks.

Although I think TW music don't hold a candle to Crusader Kings Music,


This one is my favorite campign TW song of all time.

Its something very calming about hearing that while watching your Mediterranean empire. Wish more of the campaign music was like that.

In terms of menu music, pretty damn hard to beat Rome I.

A lot of the eastern campaign tracks in it were nice too, they had quite an enigmatic feel to them.

Jesus I love all the music from Med 1 listen to this. So dark. So gloomy and medieval. OH GOD I FEEL ING TWELVE AGAIN.

Rome I's music is composed by Jeff van Dyck, meaning it is superior to just about anything else CA has ever done. Except for one title, also composed by Jeff Van Dyck: MEDIEVAL II. That is the beast of beasts. It is the king of kings, the shahs of shahs, the ultimate badass music for any video game (Kingdoms included). At the very least, it has the very best battle map melee music. The music for that, with songs like Crusaders, just blows everything else away in terms of raw power and intensity.



Compare that to Rome II, where more than half the music makes you want to go to sleep and the other half is so incredibly slow-paced and boring that it's difficult to think of any memorable riff or piece from the entire OST. I suppose it's good music for a whimsical adventure, but certainly not for ripping into people's flesh with a gladius.

Rome II sounded like nothing but ambient music on Campaign map. Their is a mod that replaces Rome II soundtrack with Rome I though.

The menu track on Rome 2 is pretty good imo. And obviously all the music from Rome 1, most of the music from Med 2, and all the Middle Eastern music in Broken Crescent. It's worth downloading that latter just for the music tbh.
