Are they all Greek oriented factions? Or will there be some Asian factions in Turkey?

    Edit: Nvm, saw Persian Empire

I assume the Ionians and maybe Thraike and Byzantion will be Persian subjects.

Adding Sicily would probably mean adding Carthage and maybe even Rome. Yes, I know about siege of Syracuse by Athens, but adding Carthage and Rome could have ruined Peloponnesian war.

What would be the point of adding Italy and Sicily when there's a huge friggin' Hydra blocking the way to the west...?

I hope that there will be a big fix for naval battles, because this map looks alot like the campain will be very much focused arround that.

What do we have here? Some big defensive walls around Sparta? Looks like a mishap as massive as lack of walls for Syracuse in main campaign of RomeII

Maybe its optional? Like, a building slot upgrade or something? Or it gets walls when you upgrade the city to t4 or something?

You can't ruin this war adding the place where this war was fought.

Also, instead of "Persian Empire" was better the idea to add the satraps, becose in the persian empire there was a rivalrly involved sometimes agreement with the greeks, many satraps were king-like in autonomy.

Not is necessary add Rome and Carthage, you can add only a part of city, the oriental one, maybe until Akragas. And some part of southern Italy, after that you can made the other pieces that are still in game but not interest by the war, some kind of wasteland, like happen in scandinavia or steppes and part of Nubia in the normal game.

That is not the way it works in Rome II. And not the way it worked in this war. So having the AI building walls in Sparta it is all the way round how someone who red about it would do it. Spartans rejected the idea of walls, in this game we have much more than the half of the cities unwalled in the main game, so having them now in this city is ..... put what ever adjective here from strange to bad.

That was before the Persian Wars I think. Ionia revolted and burned Sardes (a big city and wealthy city in the region) to the ground with Athenian help.
This was the reason why Persia was pissed off with Athens in the first place. This led to the battle of Marathon and
later to the battle of Thermopylae.

The excuses for not including Italy make zero sense.

This map already has 'dead space' as in land with no regions. Stretches the map to include a dead area of Italy to have Sicily would have been worth it. It's simply essential to even have a Peloponnesian War.

At this time Carthage and Rome were more spectators than major players - Rome at this time was still expanding into Italy outwards from Latium. Carthage was fighting the Greeks in Sicily and was a major power but Carthage did eventually lose the war(s).

One has to wonder if anyone in CA did any sort of research into the Peloponnesian War. Even a quick glance at wikipedia would surely tell you that including Sicily would be crucial to giving an authentic portrayal of the war.
