    CA Developer Icon Total War Battles: KINGDOM Announced!

    Hey all,

    We’ve just announced Total War Battles: KINGDOM, in development by our digital team here at Creative Assembly:



    Set during the chaotic turn of the 10th Century; the world starts to emerge from the Dark Ages divided and at war. Combining realm-building with large-scale tactical battles, you’ll find yourself managing the needs of your own fiefdom as you marshal formidable armies with which to duel against neighbouring kingdoms.

    You can apply for the PC Closed Beta today! Visit www.totalwar.com/kingdom to register.

    For the love of God..no offence, but wtf is this? I know that you guys really have a problem making good games since Rome 2, but this? The ios/android market is full of games like this one ..
    Edit : 1:51 , he's using Zbrush for creating a knight? Why? You won't have that number of polygons ever in a mobile game and if he'll try to reduce the number, that knight will look just like a soldier from rome 1, very low-poly. If you want to add the normal map from the high-poly sculpt on a low poly model, that model will still need a large number of polygons for one soldier to look good( like 1000-2000 polygons) + you're using the unity engine for the game, and unity can't handle large numbers of polys for a mobile game

    It's a spin off,not part of the main series.

    They did simliary game with shogun befor no need to panic

    Ok... I understand there are some people are mad about R2 and skeptical of Attila but COME ON.

    this game is not even part of the main series. it is clearly a different dev group and CA is just expanding its product line
    there is no trolling/ 'fail CA moment here.

    they are making a game for casual gamers and i bet my left nut that it will be on apple tablets (unless they already said it and i missed it)
    CA wants more exposure and good for them.


    anyway this game looks interesting when I am on the bus or something.

    this is horrible.
    hopefully that the next totalwar game will are a historical game with epic battles,preferably of the pike and shots epoch or napoleonic epoch and with characteristics in the campaing of games as crusader kings II and not this aberration of arcade game age of empire style.
    hopefully that these people of CA not sink definitely the totalwar games.

    I'm reminded of Ubisoft now where they've got all these different teams working on different projects.

    I hope this is not the average CA fan.

    Anyways, this actually looks pretty fun and interesting, I might have to give it a go.

    You do understand that high fidelity Zbrush models are not imported directly into ANY game right? They are used to generate normal maps and other shader maps. They are also then down scaled to the low polygon model that goes into the game. But I'm sure you know that since you clearly know so much about game development.

    And you know this how? You have access to Sega's and CA accounting books and budgets? Its not even the Total War CA team developing this. If this thread is an indication of the average CA hater, then I now know why so many complain. Ignorance is bliss I suppose.
