Campaign tutorial bugged?

I can't load Rufus onto the ship at the beginning of the campaign tutorial because there is a Saxon army there who's zone of control blocks me from getting onto the ship, but I HAVE to move into the zone of control because the game forces me to. I can't attack the enemy army, and I can't end the turn, so I'm stuck.

I'm using the Steam version of the game with the publicbeta patch.

My money says CA did it trying to fix multiplayer move to Steam. If they did, no fix is available.

It's not Steam related - it's just the kill_character command not firing at the beginning of the campaign_script.txt to kill off Harold due to it being broken in one of the patches a long time ago. Someone more familiar with scripting may be able to cook up a fix.
