that's what i thought with Rome II, look at the launch, this all feels deja vu to me. besides that, not sure why they making another pre-order bonus DLC, it just makes me think the launch is going to be another flop with a game that was release to soon. but that's just my opinion at the moment. xD

First of, as a long time TW player (thank god for modders that know what the people want in the TW serie) I need to speak my own personal mind on this....I dont care if most of your dont share my opinion on this matter.

The ONLY way we can make CA/SEGA suffer for they huge disappointing games and lack of commitment into the TW serie is simply to STOP BUYING THEIR GAMES! yet alone, STOP PRE-ORDER THEIR GAMES! Problem is that many mainsteam people see it as a good thing that company's release their games as early as possible so that they can play it ASAP even if it means having months with terrible performance, crappy gameplay and horrible bugs (seriously, I don't see were you find joy in that) but I'm not one of those that accept having to BETA test a game for months after I have PAID for a game that didn't say anything about the game being in BETA. Take DayZ as an example, such a crappy game when it comes to performance and bugs but still, they are honest and say that the game is in Pre-Alpha mode. SEGA only cares about money (of course, they need to make money) but don't really stand out as a community friendly company with the players best interest in mind. They wanna squeeze max profit out of the game, and by telling its a BETA game (which it is) they know many are gonna hesitate in buying the game on the release day/week/month. They simply wanna rush the game out as soon as possible and as simple as possible and thinks it okey to fix the game along the way, even by releasing several DLC's with content we have been complaining that the main game is missing, and even charge for it!

Pull your act together CA/SEGA and at least try and fix the game internally before you give it over to us. And please, stop making the game as simple as possible.....give it some love and passion! But hey, thats never gonna happen because they saw that Rome 2 sold gold before it even was released so they are gonna try it again with Attila. I bet we are gonna see headline like "Attila breaks the Rome 2 preorder sale number" and just to squeeze out the remaining people that are not sure if they wanna pre-order yet another crappy game from CA, the head of the AI division for Attila goes out in a interview telling that the AI is the MAIN focus in this game...that they AI bugdet is 60% higher then what they used on Rome 2 (which was 30% higher).

If CA/SEGA were truly honest and cared about the people actually playing the game, they would call their game BETA instead of hiding their flaws. 3rd of September 2013 is still one of the worse date ever within PC games for me...and I guess I can speak for everyone.....the game was not nearly finished! It took CA 1 year to "fix" Rome 2 and still, the biggest issue with their game/games is still a stupid and dumb AI that really takes away EVERY joy from this game.

If I worked at CA and had to talk to the community like Will and Joey do, I would truly embarrassed to be related to this game.

The only bright side about the TW series is the modders and Im forever thankful that there are people out there that really cares about this game and know how to make the necessary steps FOR FREE in order to turn the TW games towards something good instead of the patch CA them self leads the game to. If only CA shows a fraction of commitment as the DeI team (not just them, but just taking them as an example) is doing, I bet the core game actually would be good..

I gonna second that, although I have to admit they improved Rome 2 total war it didn't live up to the hype they made around it, on top of that we got a lot of bugs and crappy design choices which they somehow addressed as they went but personally for me its not worth the frustration, a game should be fun but because of the many issues it had, it largely sucked the fun out of the tittle. I still have the game installed but I just cant suppress the feeling to play the game without the mere though how frustrating the game was "and that is kinda what they left behind with their mess".

Did they polished the game? yeah they did most likely that but the question is does one person feel the urge to play a game which gave you in the first place a huge amount of frustration, I am that kind of person that keeps trying until they are really fed up and I am kinda fed up with crappy game developers these days. Personally they should make warranty laws against such company's and as long that this doesn't happen they will keep feeding you with frustration. If I wanted to be a beta tester I will have chosen to do so on my own terms but it was forced upon me. When I fully pay for a game Ill expect a finished product and that was surely not the case for Rome 2

    As for Attila Total War:

I wont make the same mistake of purchasing the next installment in pre order again from CA nor Sega.

It kinda saddens me to see that they seem to have made the same kind of marketing decision to implement a free dlc on top of a pre order I wonder if they also going to hype this game like they did with R2 and if they are also going to cloud the public's mind about things, like better siege battles and several other kind of game improvements, it doesn't sound like really hearth warming and comforting to those that still have a sour taste over R2 to trow DLC just to make the costumer to buy their product yet again. Personally yet unlikely that this will happen, they would better produce the game and first polish it, invite an exclusive alpha and beta testing group and even offer it for free to play for about 4 to 5 days on steam to the large crowd, let you costumers test it first and when you deliver then we will pay the full price.

I like to test drive my next car

    Best of regards

btw, I really hate DLC and this stupid promovideos where computer animated characters shout and yell there nonsence monologueīs ... canīt you make proper marketing?

I want to pre-order...I seriously want to, but I don't trust you anymore CA. I gave you a second chance after empire and was impressed with Shogun and then you blew it. I'll still probably buy the game eventually, but no pre-orders ever again.

I'm kinda meh about this 'freeLC' because I'm buying the game anyway, so I might as well preorder. But that is still cut content at launch because the game ain't even out and you sell content separetly. Why not include those factions in the core game for every players then?

As for the blood missing in the video, I frankly hope you won't charge those who already own blood and gore on Rome II because that makes no sense. You said you cut and sold the gore stuff separetly to get along with the age limitations, not to make extra money. So yeah, I would like more informations about that.

rather see the Irish, I always thought the Irish were a bigger deal in this age long before the Vikings come to rise.

Intentional or not I agree with the earlier post that the marketing pattern is exactly the same as it was for Empire to Rome II. Folks you have been warned - pre-ordering is a big risk and detrimental to gamers as a whole because you are buying a product unseen. Given CA's track record your best bet is to give it another year and come back to the game when it's been patched.

CA dont give a crap about our feedback. Ok ok, they do care about our bug feedback but that is not because they care about us,
it just saves them doing the testing themself.
