    Hi all,

We’re delighted to announce the release date for Total War: ATTILA as well as details on information on what you will get for free if you pick up Total War: ATTILA early – and information on our special edition.

Without further ado, I’ll hand you over to the official press release, which has more information than you can shake a spear at.

    **

    Release Date:

The global release date for Total War™: ATTILA will be February 17th, 2015 across all territories on both physical and digital formats.

I gotta second this. A lot of publishers do this and it works out real well, methinks.

Pre-order DLC bonuses need to die, you cannot convince me that this is DLC that has been made after the fact. It has been made, alongside the game, with the intention to remove it and potentially charge more to your userbase.

Also anybody pre-ordering after Rome 2 should really evaluate their purchases

That's not what a pre-order bonus means. It's simply content that the company decided to give for no extra cost to those that pre-order compared to to those who order after the launch. Of course it has been made alongside the game. No one claims that they invented the time machine and got the pack from the future. It's quite pointless to criticize something that you misrepresent.

So DLC will continue to be unlocking factions already included in the game and throwing in a few cut units like it was in R2. Yeah the Amazon info was just a placeholder apparently, but the Feb release that was mentioned repetitively and then denied was accurate. Pricing is more like Napoleon than R2, but as much as R2 was on sale it was really just as cheap. We'll have to wait and see if they discount BI2 as much. All the people who denied the Feb release because it was way too soon remember that. They are apparently going from pre-alpha to release in a few months. Either the game is almost finished now and they have already started beta testing it, or we are going to get an alpha or beta release in Feb. The beta period for R2 lasted a full year. We'll probably get a feeling of deja vu when BI2 comes out.

    THIS!
Looks like they need more money to fix Attila after release ( remember Frankenstein 2 ! )

Edit: I love how there's no blood in the video, will there be another blood DLC? I hope not, because you'll be pushing it ugly.

Go back and read CA's rationalization for Greek City States dlc. They said it was created after the CONTENT of the first game was finalized so it had to be separate. Most of us always knew the DLC was largely cut content, but it was proven during BoW and another time that skipping my mind now. You are the one who is introducing something pointless that no one else mentioned to misrepresent what someone else said (time travel). You are right about it being pointless to criticize something that you have misrepresented. Not only is this cut content, its barely content at all. They aren't even saying how many units each faction will get, but probably 1-3 like R2 packs. Sure there is some value in missions since CA has blocked modders from adding them, but there is no need to then lock the factions for mods to try to force us to buy the DLC. That in itself makes he want to buy nothing from CA at all. CA apparently learned little from R2 and are using the same strategies from R2, just with a much smaller hype campaign because Sega wouldn't give them that much money again, nor will the TW community.

Can you post a picture of the (HOPEFULLY) historically accurate sandals that the Geats will be wearing, please?

It will greatly influence my decision about buying this game.

I second this. I will be especially angry if the sewing pattern of their tunics is not historically accurate.

My slight concern is the Jutes were part of the Anglo-Saxon "conglomeration". Historical fact.

Also can anyone answer me this. Wasnt the pirates and raiders dlc initially for sale with Rome2 and now I just got it for free? So why would I purchase this special edition Attila when I could just wait and then at some point get the danes etc for free?

p.s and re the over dramatisation re historical accuracy stop trolling. there's a line between historical acc+fun and arcadey nonsense.

I remember it. The majority of people reading this thread will remember as well. If you don't you take the time to search the forum for it. I have re-read the lies from CA enough no need to get myself upset again. I've never seen you accept any proof shown to you so i'm not going to waste my time doing it again now. Where is your link to prove anyone is claiming time travel or any of the other none sense in your posts? You always demand proofs from others but never have any yourself. I can post my opinion without having to do research every time.

And this isn't really content you are getting for free, it is forcing you to pay more to get the full game just like other DLC that locks factions you could previously pay for. It isn't just the fact that is is coming out at the same time that shows it is cut content, BoW came out much later and included cut content. CA even admitted it, but said the wasn't good enough to be included so they cut it. Then after improving it they put it into DLC. Something being done so pooly it has to be fixed doesn't warrant charging extra for it. They then went on to apologize for including the cut content in advertisements instead of apologizing for doing it. It is being included in the price for pre-orders but it should be included in the price for everyone.
