Hi all,

Today’s the day we release the Black Sea Colonies Culture Pack DLC (plus FreeLC faction!).

By way of celebration we’ve released a new trailer for your enjoyment:

We mentioned FreeLC - your game will be updated via Steam today with the 12th entry in our list of free content releases - the new, playable faction of Massilia. A wealthy trading-state of Greek colonists situated on the north-western coast of the Mediterranean, Massilia has come to embrace Gaulish culture, military units and battle tactics.

Also available for purchase from today, the Black Sea Colonies Culture Pack brings three further factions to ROME II’s Grand Campaign, custom battles and multiplayer. Cimmeria, Colchis and Pergamom all claim Greek heritage, but their settlement away from their homelands has wrought subtle changes to their cultures. Each faction enjoys unique traits, strengths and hybrid unit Rosters that reflect their culturally diverse civic and military aspects.

Additionally, the latest patch will drop at the same time, consisting of further balancing changes to unit strengths based on community feedback.

I completely forgot about Massilia, I need to check them out as they aren't under Black Sea Colonies tab on the menu (obviously). I wonder if they are under Greek, Successor Kingdom or even Gallic tribes?

Thats not new, Every patch/FLC/DLC will ruin mods till the modders update it.

But patch 16 did not mutch after all those months of silent and still many bug aren't fixed another great job CA on releasing your DLC,s above fixing the damn game.

I am a little disappointed that the patch#16 (after such a long long time; think about 2 month now when we heard patches are coming every week) is mainly a balancing patch. It provides "features" that are already available due to modding but what about those things we actually cannot mod!? Things that are really needed to be done by the devs and are therefore much more needed and critical.

To be honest, we knew this update was coming, we know that updates like this can mess up certain mods.
Best option when an update is coming is to not update it Put Steam in offline mode until the mod you play has been updated to the latest patch

Nobody is forcing you to buy it. Don't want or need it, don't buy it But also don't complain about it, as some do want to buy it which is their fair right.
I'll be buying it (as soon as it's available in my online shop of choice).

Yes sir. My game will not start now. I use the mod manger by Mitchel Heastie so perhaps there is an update for that. I suppose I have to deactivate all mods and start over. It would be nice to be able to control when these updates take place.

Didn't realizes I was complaining Sorry, I was just making an observation, nor am I prohibiting anyone from purchasing the DLC. Just my view from the balcony that all.

Why shouldn't we complain? We could play 3 factions beforehand, now we can't. We can't just keep Steam offline forever. They could've easily released a unit pack instead for those factions, but no, they need to charge us more money for content that was already freely available.

no surprises here besides the fact that the community fixes things nicely for CA ... CA breaks it and releases more "extra content".

i dont now why there is still surprise about all of this, it has been the modus operandi since Med2 and will carry on being so. we saw Napoleon instead of empire being fixed, we had the shogun dlc fest under the guise of "different playable eras" which admittedly was kind of better than a complete standalone game... and now Rome 2 instead of being optimized and made perfect for the gamers will just have a completely new game thrown on top of it .....or actually rather beside it with again all the features that should have been in Rome anyway.

i shudder at what they have planned for the Warhammer franchise.......

its modern economics, soon they will progress to the pay to win strategy that plagues all mobile games now and the problem is that there will be a enough sales to warrant them not being worried at all in fixing problems but rather steam on ahead with new products ...excuse the pun.....

Personally tought I will be waiting Attila. IT's a bit weird, the point you got the game at good state (EE), and I started considering getting more DLC, you showed Attila with all the new gameplay mechanics. I lost any will to spend more money to Rome 2 after that But it is still nice to see new content coming out for Rome 2.
