Game Exits After The Year Turn Ends (CTD issue)

I hit the button to forward the turn, and after passing successfully through the steps of all factions the game exits to the desktop with the following error message:
"Medieval 2: Total War encountered an unspecified error and will now exit."

• The issue is reproducible always.
• The CTD occurs during the a) year turn
• My OS: Windows 7 Ultimate x64
• I have English language version
• The CTD occurred in winter, year of 1202
• Playing with Armenia
• Not known what faction could cause the CTD (not sure, but probably the last one "Rebels" as the turn goes through the end before the game crashes)
