I've always resorted to hitting F9 to disable GEM effects while in the campaign map, and revert the graphics back to vanilla in order to get rid of the slight blur over all of the text that always seem to be present when using GEM as I don't know which slider(s) to adjust in the sweetfx panel to minimize it. Although at the moment I'm using astrocats first 1.0.8 preset and there is no blur, so doing that is unnecessary currently.
Just wanted to share my preset because some people have been asking

I tried your preset : really great
Name:: Realistic True Color
Target Application:: Total War: AttilGEMFX Version:: v1.0.8.1
Features:: Realistic Blend on the True Color Shader, with added HDR. Realistic work on the True Color shader, colors are not greyed out, but vibrant and pop, helmets and metals glisten as if the sun was beating down on the shiny metals, while duller/flater surfaces brighten but not overly, nothing unrealistic added, just clear imagery, vibrant colors, and metals that glisten strongly.

THX!Looks great!
Hello everyone. It's my first post here. Sorry if the question has been asked already, but i'm lost in all the topics and the possibilities since i'm French and can barely speak/read fluent English.
I've managed to make G.E.M work on Rome II, but the default G.E.M is really, really strange, wich forces me to down gamma in order to get something "readable".
My question is simple : i'm looking for some user presets to enhance my experience, but I have no idea how to proceed since it's not specified on the main topic of G.E.M. For example, i've fallen in love with Strachy's set up. How to instal his file and what to do ( update something in my rome II data folder ? force a download in mod manager in rome II launcher ? ). If it's not possible, since it was designed to be played on Attila, is there any option window in game i could pop up ( toggle seems to be the right word ? ) to modify G.E.M's settings ?
Sorry if this question has been asked and thank you for the good work you've made for years now. Mark ( sorry for my English ).
Can someone please upload all of his GEM files (not only the .cfg ?)
Attila crashes at launch, and I'm not the only one who has this problem, so I'll like to have the 1.0.7 files that used to work on my computer Thanks a lot
Strachys, very nice preset! I tried to use my own configuration, but could do nothing that satisfied me really.
So I just use yours now with some tiny tweaks (enabled UI-Bypass and disabled ambient light).
Attila has never been so beautiful *thumbs up*
Thanks a lot!
PS: If you ever think about changing/improving your settings, please share with us!
PPS: Can you post a screenshot from your ingame graphic settings and your values for gamma / luminosity please? Would be interesting.
Hi Mamba, while the preset was designed around Attila it won't prevent you from using it in your Rome II configuration. You'll need to save the .cfg file to "\SteamApps\common\Total War Rome II\GEMFX\Presets\current" replacing the file that currently exists there. You'll then want to run the GEMFX_Configurator.exe (the configurator will let you play around with the settings yourself if you want) located in the "Total War Rome II" folder and click 'Load Configuration' to import the changed settings.
So v1.0.8.1 of the GEMFX causes Attila to crash for you?
Thanks a lot miTo. Ah Yes,
