Parthia ruling the whole Roman Empire

Eastern factions controlling a large portion of the world

Ancient Arab Nations or Nabetea controlling the whole world or a large portion of it.

Rome besieging a fully upgraded Carthage with all levels buildings to the max.

    Rome and Greece - obv.

And a Marcommani war conflict as well.

And something to stimulate the battle of Tuetoberg forest.

Anything I suppose, but thanks for asking!

    Hello guys.
It's my go posting a rather interesting save in my opinion at least...
    Here it is.
Mod DEi + a little but interesting mod : Increase spotting distance for a more tactical BAI (flankink is harder !). (steam version)

Game play : ROME Hard/Hard (if I remember so) and approximatively in an historical way.
    Situation : summer 224 BC.
Rome is all the Pensinsula Italica, Sardinia and Corsica, Sicilia and Cisalpina.
    BUT
Is surrounded by some growing superpowers or at least big regional powers.
North West : ARVERNI dominating all the actual french territory (not historical at all ) hostile (send diplomat !)
Nort : NERVI having all territories from the actual Switzerland/Austria and Germany. (Not at all historicall ) (hostile or neutral, send diplomat !)
South : CARTHAGO : weakened by first punic war but already "healed" by occupying all of the spanish west shores. (historicallly accurate ) Hostile but dont bothering you for instance. (strong fleet). Doesnt like the Arverni to...
East/NE : SCORDISI : having conquered Illyria, Thracia all East Europa and still pushing far in the East (at war with Sarmatians). Not historicall !

Actually as ROME you are at war with this last faction. Of course this is to prevent greek business allies from these invasive and unreliable barbarians !
Anno 224 has seen blitz for SPQR with the conquest of IADER, EPIDAMNOS and APOLLONIA. But now three of your armies are besieging DELMINIUM with its big garrison and a full stack army.
Taken by surprise at the beginning the SCORDISI will react and won't be easy to be repelled.
Their celt "cousins" NERVI and ARVERNI don't like at all seeing you attacking them...
Last but not least : It's 224 BC, polybian reform is already founded but not yet applied (I wait about 220/218 BC and the second punic war to upgrade my armies) !

You have plenty of money BUT Cisalpina's recent conquest and half of your armies being from the other side of the adriatic sea make you some heavy losses each turn...

"I swear that so soon as age will permit... I will use fire and steel to arrest the destiny of Rome."

    Hi everybody,

I wanted to add a save of mine to this glorious thread.

I am in quite a moment of my campaign as Carthage and thought that somebody might want to take a swing at it themselves.

    Turns passed: 80ish
Overview: For the most part of early game I have been establishing trade routes and developing my provinces, focusing on temples to Baal and trade ports (da Carthaginian way) and developing military center in Iberia.
Conquests:I have conquered 6 regions so that I had complete provinces i.e. Syracuse, The one far left in Africa (I never remember the name of the town) and 4 in Iberia: Iplacea, Kartuba, Arse and Numantia. After a brief conflict with Lusitanni I crushed their armies, obliterated their fleets and made them my client state in exchange for peace (they control the whole 2-regions province on the far west of Iberia) - Carthage was never really interested in establishing colonies on western coast anyways. During border fights with Cantabri, Rome suddenly declared war on me, despite being friendly and trading

Current state of campaign map: Defensive alliance with Massilia and Garamantians, 3 client states: 2 original in Africa + Lusitani. no wars.
4 major armies: 3 in Iberia, 1 in Syracuse. 2 local patrols in Africa.
1 major fleet in Iberia, 2nd smaller in Syracuse.

I will be posting two save files:
    1) Pre-Hannibal manuever: You've got 1 well-trained army ready to march across friendly Massilian terrain (should you choose to follow Hannibal's steps). 2nd army escorted by fleet stationed In Karalis. 3rd army in Syracuse, supported by your 2nd fleet. 4th army in North Iberia, involved in conflict with Cantabri - however some kind of a peace treaty should be easily negotiable.
    o
    2) Hannibal manuever:
Main army just before crossing of Alps. 2nd army escorted by fleet close to Genua. Surprised Rome has no garisson in Cisalpina. 3rd full army in Syracuse waiting for your orders, supported by your 2nd fleet. 4th army in Iberia recuparating after war with Cantabri, will soon be able to march where you command. Romans have a big fleet near Carthage - it might require you take action.

All other fronts are secure. Soldiers are well fed and trained, awaiting for your orders. Rome is weakened by Macedonian wars and is occupied elsewhere. Gather your men, give orders, march your armies! Fate of Rome is sealed!

No sub-mods, despite graphic ones, used. Should be OK for everybody.

Enjoy! Pm me or just reply if you found the saves to be interesting - some kind of feedback would be much aprreciated

Very authentic Hannibal save. Its too bad you don't actually have one named hannibal. Good attention to historical detail!

Hi, I am playing Carthage campaign( hard diff. and hard diff battles). Having trouble with battles, my carthaginian hoplites vs garamantiam troops are useless (either i charge into superior numbers 200 hops vs 300 gars. or i stand and get shot with javelins and then charged my self) also cavalry is so slow and does so little charge damage that it is pointless to have them. I have a save here. Who can help win this battle. play quick save to go to the battle or regular save and press end turn.

Before even getting down to how fight desert armies I gotta ask why do you fight Garamantians?
I made them my client state on turn 1 after giving em 2-4k gold and proposing trade agreement. They took it without a blink of an eye. After 100 turns they still are a loyal vassal

How to fight desert guys? Use light libyan javcav (those AoR) and kite. Let hoplites retreat and pick off marauding javelinmen on their back. They tend to use javcav as well so just put one carthaginian cav on them and make em chase em to the border of the map. Once u trap em there carthage cav make short work of them.

All in all i suggest enriching army with: peltast, javcav, carth cav and hoplites in the back. Libyan inf should be decent as well but I prefer to make a hoplite wall in the back and engage their spears once their javelinmen are sufficiently depleted. Even on H battle difficulty u still can take spears head-on with hoplites.

I find combo of hoplites/peltasts/javcav/carth cav enough to beat them.

All that being said, desert armies are still a pain in the... neck

Yeap. I also prefer to use them as a client state.

I trying to consolidate African provinces and having them as client state is not worth they dont help in war, just there and collecting money also I have Iol and its hard convert culture to mine so I have bad public order. Totally useless to have them. After I beat them im coming after my client states in north Africa. Do you play normal or hard difficulty battles.

I hope this is the right post for this. I swear I saw a different "share your experience" post before but I may be tripping.

Has anyone managed to pull a more or less historically accurate Roman Grand Campaign? Conquering the territories in the order and time they were conquered in real life (minus the years offset due the pace of the game), allying and betraying the different factions as Rome did in the past, etc... Is this possible with the custom scripted DeI events like the war with Carthage? (I don't know if there are more if them, I have only played so much)

No and yes. CAI will declare war on you . To avoid that you must reroll autosave to get more historical outcome. Than you will save scum more than play the game.
Changing wars in save manager can corrupt your save. It is random driven game so save scumming for Rome will not affect unseen factions. Catch 22
