Call for Total War Arena Players

Hello Everyone,

Today we are giving you the rare chance to be one of the first people in the world to play Total War: ARENA, our 10v10 team-based battle game. We are looking for just a handful of interested people to visit CA, join our internal pre-beta tests and share their feedback directly with the ARENA development team at CA.

With any trips like this we will have some special selection criteria, which I feel many of you will fit. We would like to hear from hardcore Total War fans who play both Single player and Multiplayer.

So, if you would like to put your name forward for this event and are mostly available in the first two weeks of November, please send me 4-5 lines telling us why you would be a great pick to be one of the first to play Total War: ARENA.

Please note this will be a European event only, we have plans to do an American event in the future.

So it isn't Vaporware after all? Regardless, I'm not interested in such a title. I wish they would work and improving Rome II rather than developing these kind of games >.<

Weren't all pre-orders of Rome 2 meant to get access to the beta for this?

No, no, that was a typo- all Rome II pre-orderers got access to the beta of Rome II. You know, their 'release' version.

I used to be optimistic like you, then I took a Rome II to the knee.

I'm not saying this 'Arena' game of theirs is going to be bad. But, I see it like this- considering their track record, and where the gameplay focus of Rome II is and how they're no longer following what made the original games good, and that 'Arena' by all means sounds like it's supposed to be even more arcade like... well, you can see why I'm sceptical, right? But I'm not trying to pick things apart. Not yet. But I'm sure as hell not buying into anything until I can see exactly what it is.

Most people have a game that teaches them that they shouldn't expect games to be good without proof. Carthage did that.

A mixed era Total War could be interesting, something I've been wanting for ages and never gotten out of mods.
At least this is free to play, so all I've lost is time if I get into this.

... mixed era you say? Apparently I didn't know as much about this game as I thought I did. Mixed era certainly sounds like a more unique idea that CA have previously worked on, so must admit I'd be more receptive of a Rome II style game if it went with that idea. Still skeptical though.

I can't stop imagining that sooner than latter we'll get a banner on top of this site with some kind of flash publicity along the lines of:

Welcome!
Face your rivals!
Grow your empire!
Play with people all over the world!
Facebook Total War!
