It should attract fans of history, people who admire war, monarchy, religions, etc. And what we see here are neo-atheists, pacifists, feminists, secularists, vegetarians, modernists and communists/anarchists.
It was my interest in history that led to my leftist views - whilst one can be interested in history he does not have to hold all that has happened within it in the highest of regards. My favorite TW games are Empire/Napoleon - this is because I have a great interest in the Enlightenment and the events around it/that it caused. I do admire certain historical figures - but I place them in the grander scheme of things. One can be interested in history - but can also realise it's inevitable onward march, and support that.

That would be an excruciatingly dull game - and I speak as a Leftist Marxian type.

Not really, it wasn't the game who made me what I am, in fact I already had my views before I met TW, and thus I fell in love with a game I can escape this ridiculous reality we live today and go back in good old times. Would be nostalgia, except I didn't live in the 12th century.

    +1 hahaha

That is true, I always play Empire to destroy all republics and protestant nations. And Medieval II to destroy Islam.

Where? So far you are the only one I seen.

There I agree, you know, I was going to say "play Lenin" but then I thought "wow, that would be cool, a war game in the beginning of the Soviet Union" hahahaha

Alright alright! Everyone proved their point, I agree, fine, but I wonder why there aren't any people of my political inclination here, it should be common too, that is what I meant. I see no monarchists here, no catholics, no reactionaries!

    What is that?
If you had bothered to look: The best overview of the political standpoint of the average TWC member you could possibly ask for. So basically the answer to your thread.

And as you can see we're mostly leftist.

Now that is a game - Total War: [Insert Name here - early 20th century time-frame, or it could lead on from 19th century]. I like that idea.

But you can still see everyone's posts where they attached pictures of their political profiles.

I also find find it ironic TWC is mostly leftist when GED, who is the owner of the site, is totally right wing. Free market anarchy for the win!!

What the hell is this thread?

    I'm Irish, I'm a socialist (I guess), I'm a pretty nice bloke.
Yet I've played as the British in games (even invaded Ireland), I've played as monarchies, fascist regimes, capitalist countries. I always do both "good" and "bad" playthroughs of RPGs.
I study history and my favourite subject is 18th and 19th century history.

If you only play a game with choices (such as TW games) as close to your real political views as possible, then you're wasting the game and not getting your money's worth.
Besides, if you can't separate political views and a game, I think you've got more things to worry about.

I find this whole game of the "understanding zealot" quite tiresome, really. Every week, there is some extreme right, or ocasionally extreme left twit, that goes into whatever forum I like with some pretense of trying to understand the allegedly flawed logic of the percieved opposing ideology, in the most goading, flawed and condescending way possible. And every time, the guy is humored with pointless neutral* posts that will obviously be twisted in such a way so as to fit the logic the OP began with, and nothing comes out of it.

And what we see here are neo-atheists, pacifists, feminists, secularists, vegetarians, modernists and communists/anarchists.
Go to the mudpit, it's where all the crap goes to fester.

Ach but what makes me not understand this is that in which you all seen to ignore in the original posts, why this community of TW is so leftist, when all the rest gathers massive numbers of conservatives?

What is "all the rest"? Are there any TW communities aside of this and Total War forums?

I'm closing this, the Political Profile Thread is better for subject. Take the test and post your results there.
