I think that with Atilla they are plowing the game towards Med III. I mean, it seems natural.

So it would be natural and easy for them to modify the game a little and launch a new game.

I have nothing to add at this time, but I am curious to What do you envisioned the features would be?
I fell flattered you ask me.
Well I'm kind of way too optimistic for what I would like.
But if I had to divine it. I would say CA would keep the same engine that used for Rome and Atilla. A little rework for the family tree to include princess and what not medieval. Same game mechanics perhaps a little different transport armies now, they would really be transport ships this time and not warships.
I think it would have pretty much the same features as Atilla but with a medieval skin.

Actually is the last thing I'd like to see in the few next years. Too similar, too son.
My personal ideal game would overlap with medieval and cover the entire 16th and 17th centuries (say from Agincourt -1415- to the Spanish Succession War -1700-. This way you get very interesting alternative history scenarios (change the luck of the Byzantines, Burgundy or the spanish Moors) and enough unit variations to keep the game interesting (spanning from the longbow and heavy french cavalry to the regimental gunpowder units, with pike&shot in the middle as the main actor). The Byzantines would end probably being a way too "fantastic" faction, so I guess a 1453 starting date would be cool too, 250 years of epicness.
It's that or Warhammer, I would really dig any of the two. Another sequel right now would kill me, to be honest, and I'm just not that interested in the XIXth. century for this kind of game.
I suspect its going to be warhammer but this is my wishlist for med3:
- Full modding capacity as number 1 priority
- the castles and citys conversion from med2 brought back
- Honour or blood - have dynamic events that make myour ruler go the path of honour or ruthlessness - with advantages and disadvantages of both on the campaign and battlemap, have his heir have a chance to inherit his traits.
- Succesion and disputed throne civil wars a possibility after your king dies.
- Events to appease barons or peasents, tie in with honour or blood.
- Pope like med2, but more powerful, perhaps have the college of cardinals like ck2
- Crusades of course
- more realisticly portrayed muslims.
- Firearms appearing at a very late date
- Return of the mongol invasion and timurids.
- Expansion into india
- Possibility to reform roman empire as byzantine
- a dark setting like med1
-HRE portrayed like CK2
- possibility to form modern spain and britain, and elsewhere where applicable.
Thats all i can think of for now.
I am very much looking forward to a warhammer tw though, since warhammer mark of chaos just didnt do it for me and theres not much competition here since dawn of war series has gone dead.

Like Napoleon and Fall of the Samurai?
Hell no! But if CA sees that they still make money with it, why change it? Just trying to speak from a business perspective. Why make heavy investment on something that you can get away halfarsing it anyway? Most people don't really care beyond playing a few battles with pretty shinny models and be done with it.

Both are 18th, 19th centuries, and one of them in a completelly different theathre.
When I say 16th-17th centuries I mean something like this:
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
From a business perspective they could very well stop developing Total Wars and start making Fifas and Call of Dutys. Even in the road they've take now they have already lost a long time customer. I'm a absolute TW fanboy and I haven't purchased a single TW game (out of ridiculously cheap steam sales) since Medieval 2, and that means 2006.
So if they want to dump their fanbase and just care about money, then go ahead, let's make as many arcadey total wars (or fifas) as they want.
But I thought we were speaking about games that we, the players, would like to see made.
Ahhh pike and shot! Yes, it would be interesting.
The thing is, and I'm not excusing them, is that CA has lost the drive of a game company, to make good games, truly enjoyable ones, that are inmersive and filled with details that you could tells how much effort they put to it. Instead it has grow to this "maximum profit with the least effort" thing that just keeps disappointing the base fans that are not 12 years anymore.
