    Hello everybody

    I'm playing BC 2.3.2.2 mod and has successfully reached year 1338 AD. after i press end turn, the error "Medieval 2: Total War encountered an unspecified error and will now exit" occurs and game crashes. That happens not when my turn ends, but when Roman turn starts. The log file says:

    I guess this CTD is related to bink player. Can please somebody help?

    Have you installed any submods?

    Basically, an "unspecified error" can be anything. If you can't figure out the problem but are willing to continue playing with one faction less, use the kill_faction command on the Roman Empire and see if that helps. If I remember correctly you just need to type the following in the console and press enter:

    kill_faction byzantium
    Actually you should do that anyways without saving so it can be confirmed that it is indeed the Roman Empire that causes this crash. And if you don't know how to open the console:

    Another good idea is to disable Fog of War (command: toggle_fow) and see what's going on in the beginning of the Roman turn (I put my money on a siege). Repeat this multiple times while zoomed in on different locations with Roman armies (or agents).

    If none of this worked, I'm afraid there is nothing I can do to help you. (Not that I'm a BC guru anyway. It's been ages since I last played M2TW properly.)

    What does it say before the "bik_player" part?

    No submods, just vanilla M2TW Kingdoms + BC.
    I removed fog of war, but was unable to detect what causes CTD. I'm positive that no faction is destroyed on Roman move.
    Then i destroyed Romans. Correct command is surrender_regions byzantium. That does not help either - immediate CTD after pressing 'end turn' button

    I'm clueless. Also, I can't play the turn for you because I'm currently modding my BC files. If no one else can help you then I'd suggest simply starting a new campaign as annoying as it might feel. Unfortunately not all crashes can be fixed.

    Ive had the same problem but in Kingdoms Grand Campaign turn 269! It kept freezing during the AI's turn in exactly the same place and nothing happened. The only way to solve the problem which i have is to change/alter something before your end the turn. Do something like cancel a move, change a move, just change something before you end the turn. And try using toggle_fow to pin point the glitching unit.

    I have successfully downloaded but cannot install, everyone I get an error message telling me about missing files abort retry or cancel!
    It is a Steam installation, which was not an issue with any older RTW mods. Not sure if its corrupt download, Windows 10 or something else?
    I have tried multiple downloads and attempts, but just do not seem to get anywhere

    Sorry I posted this in a wrong thread, but I have been under a lot of stress with my son being so apologies!

    Having the exact same issue with the exact same bink error in the log. The crashing is not consistent and seems to happen randomly which means I am always just crossing my fingers every time I end a turn.

    I am playing as the Romans.
