    Default Master Bug Report Compilation

    DO NOT POST BUGS IN THIS TOPIC. Post bugs and technical issues in the Bug Center thread. Thank you.

    Notice: I have retired from making Community Patches and updating this topic with bug reports. As such, the ones listed here may not cover all the bugs in the latest versions.

    This thread was created to increase visibility of documented bugs to users and hopefully to those who can actually fix them. If I happen to be missing any bugs or have made a mistake with the list, please let me know in this thread so I can get around to fixing it.

    In addition, with the latest release of HTW 3.7, I have archived the previous compilation of bugs in 3.6 and started the list clean. If there can be confirmation that a bug from 3.6 still exists in 3.7, let me know so I can re-add it to the list.

    Master Bug Report Compilation - HTW 3.7:
    Spoiler for Click Me!
    Red = Game Breaking Bug, priority to fix!
    Blue = Fixed Bug, these are bugs that have fixes but are not implemented in the latest Community Patch.
    Purple = Special Bug, please read over the information provided.

    Green = Bug patched.

    There have been no bugs patched for HTW 3.7.
    Bug 1: The Infamous Turn 15 Crash- Still clinging to HTW at least since 3.5, this crash occurs on Turn 15 when the River Zora attempt to spawn.
    - While some state this crash may be related to the power of your PC, there have been reports that new PCs can also suffer from this crash.
    - There is still no official way to fix this crash, but the temporary solution is normally to remove the Zola Invasions section in the campaign_script.txt.

    Bug 2: Freeform Campaign - After Battle Crash
    - A documented crash that also existed in previous versions, this crash occurs when finishing a battle that has multiple armies (stacks) involved. It is theorized that this crash occurs due to the execution animation or the total number of units involved.

    Bug 3: Main Menu - Freeform Campaign - Faction Selection
    - After glimpsing through the Hyrule Historia, rapidly changing factions in the Freeform Campaign selection screen causes a CTD.
    - There was no "sorry pal" message.

    Bug 4: Main Menu - Loading Screen Transitions
    - Seems to still be present from 3.6, but I wonder if this is just a PC or the base engine issue.
    - In 3.5, loading screens will transfer immediately at the cost of having overlapping music. In 3.6 and 3.7, the loading screen is delayed, seemingly causing a "hang" in the game before finally loading.

    Bug 5: Hyrule Historia - The Realm of Twilight - Prince Zant - Unlocalized Placement Text

    - Prince Zant does not have a proper icon or proper text on the battle preparation screen. He shows as a Twili Infantry.

    Bug 6: Hyrule Historia - The Realm of Twilight - The Trial of Zant - Stuck
    Sorceress
    - One of the Twili Sorceress units are stuck on the mountain.

    Bug 7: Hyrule Historia - The Realm of Twilight - The Trial of Zant - Unit Pathing
    - Not sure if a pathing error or just the engine, but units rather take the long way around instead of just taking the bridge to the capture area.

    Bug 8: Hyrule Historia - The Realm of Twilight - King Zant - Unlocalized Placement Text

    - King Zant does not have a proper icon or text in the battle preparation screen. His icon seems to be Peasants.

    Bug 9 - Freeform Campaign - Wizzrobe Conversion
    - When one region reaches the conversion point and switches over, switches over ALL regions that have Wizzrobe influence, no matter how minor.
    -- AN: So Wizzrobe Crusades are still a thing... Fun, but extremely broken...

    Bug 10 - Freeform Campaign - Turn 126 Crash
    - This happens when the Stalfos spawn and is likely similar to the River Zora situation.

    Bug 11 - Freeform Campaign - Gohma - Solarium Mound Placeholder
    - The icon and illustration is missing upon going into detailed structure information (right click).

    If this post counts as not following the thread rules, let me know and I'll edit this post accordingly.
    All these units in red also lack melee.
    Bug 20: Lack of Melee - Conjurers, Plowers, Stalhounds, Outrunners, Zirros, Elder Goats, Shepherd Flock,
    - These units do not have a melee attack.
    I also Believe the Twilit Spiders, And a few of the larger Gohma unit types are also missing a melee attack. Can some one confirm this also?

    Edit: Lastly, are the Deku Catapults supposed to be that inaccurate? Because with that much inaccuracy, + not being able to damage buildings well, and being few in numbers of weak units to guard and use the Deku Catapults. Makes them incredibly not worth it and utterly useless for the most part.

    I think Fixing their accuracy or at least making them more accurate, would be good.

    Bug 1: Unlocalised Placement Text
    - Affects Deku Catapults, Repentants, and Una (They do not have working names and descriptions).

    Bug 2: Custom Battles - Onox
    - Onox is not available for custom battles.

    Bug 3: Mirror Gate Guardians
    - They use the default RTW Peasant portrait.

    Bug 4: Freeform Campaign - Valran and Elmenzhia
    - Strategy Map models display a vanilla M2TW castle and the Palace of Twilight.

    Bug 5: Earth Reapers
    - There's an underscore in the name ("Earth_Reaper")

    Bug 8: Order of the Wizzrobe - Hylian Wizards
    - Lacking some 3D model textures

    Bug 10: Darknut Legion - Mazura
    - Crashes immediately when entering the field (Darknut = player) or start of battle (Darknuts = enemy). It may have to do with incorrectly written animation or model files.

    Bug 11: Deku Tribes - Plowers
    - Uses the Wolfos sprite and lacks a melee attack.

    Bug 12: Agitha
    - Attempting to fire crashes the game.

    Bug 13: Freeform Campaign - Zora - Duplicate Structures
    - Duplicate structure functions (Small Octorok Den & Zora Bigocto Breeding Grounds)

    Bug 14: Freeform Campaign - Ikana & Deku Tribes - Duplicate Structures
    - There are some overlaps with the structures for Ikana and the Deku Tribes.

    Bug 16: Freeform Campaign - Darknut Legion Tech Tree
    - Like previous bugs, it seems the Darknut Legion may also have some overlap.

    Bug 17: Twilight Civil War - Minda Crash
    - When playing as Minda, attacking Zant's forces causes a crash.

    Bug 18: Twilight Civil War - Zant's Save Game
    - When loading a Zant campaign form a save file, the player's faction changes to Hyrule and can do nothing. The game is waiting for Zant's forces to finish his turn which is supposed to be under the control of the player.

    Bug 19: Manhandlites CTD
    - Manhandlities crash the game.

    Bug 20a: Lack of Melee - Conjurers, Outrunners, Zirros
    - These units do not have a melee attack.

    Bug 23: Deku Tribes - Portraits
    - Still have the old portriats when selecting them.

    Bug 28: Deku Tribes - Plowers and Zirros
    - Plowers do not run properly
    - Zirros do not seem to shoot at anything
    - Both units do not respond to a charge order.

    Bug 30 - Freeform Campaign - Agitha Crash
    - When Agitha spawns (default turn 75), the campaign crashes.

    Bug 31 - Battles - Vaati
    - Vaati crashes the game when he is used in battle.

    Bug 33: Stalfos - Rotting Scrubs Rout
    - Rotting Scrubs flee when overwhelmed

    Bug 34: Freeform Campaign - Ordona Militia Recruitment
    - These units can not be recruited.

    Bug 36 - Freeform Campaign - Forces of Twilight - Zant Barracks
    - Zant's faction can not build the Twilight Barracks.

    Bug 45 - Twili - Minda - Battle Model
    - May have incorrect textures.

    Bug 46 - Freeform Campaign - Gohma - Generals
    - Gohma can not recruit generals.

    Bug 53: Pathfinders - Animation
    - Pathfinders shoot with their knives, and stab with their Crossbows.
    Bug 6: Freeform Campaign - Population Growth
    - Population Growth does not seem to work.

    Bug 7: Goron Flamecannons
    - They have difficulty firing shots.

    Bug 9: Acrid Sprayers
    - Far too inaccurate. Suggestion is to increase accuracy so it doesn't hit its own men.

    Bug 15: Loading Screen Transition
    - Existing from Beta, when loading into a freeform campaign the screen "locks up" before transitioning into the loading screen. The stable version of 3.5.1 does not have this problem but it is theorized that this bug may have to do with the Hotseat campaign mechanics.

    Bug 20b: Lack of Melee - Plowers, Stalhounds, Elder Goats, Shepherd Flock, Twili Spider Swarm, Dodongos, Pincergohma, and Shieldgohma
    - These units do not have a melee attack.
    - 12-15-2014 Update: Twili Spider Swarm, Dodongos, Pincergohma, and Shieldgohma do not have a melee attack.
    - Update: Conjuers, Outrunners, and Zirros now work and moved to Fixed Bugs under Bug 20a.

    Bug 21: The Infamous Turn 15 Crash
    - It still exists. Specifically, this crash occurs when the River Zora attempt to spawn.
    - Update: Apparently, this crash may be related to the power of your PC. There have been reports that this crash tends to occur on older PCs, newer ones do not seem to suffer from this crash.
    - Update 2: There has been no "official" way to fix this bug, but several members have created their own fixes to deal with this issue. The majority delve into the campaign_script file and remove almost everything River Zora related.

    Bug 22: More Crashes!
    - New Ikana Cannons, Bats, and double clicking / selecting Shadow Bloats crashes the game.
    - Update: Ikana Bats will work properly in a new version.

    Bug 24: Dodongo's Cavern Banner
    - It may occassionally show Majora's banner over the settlement.

    Bug 25: AI Diplomats
    - Diplomats will surround a settlement but not do anything else and remain there for a time.

    Bug 26: Freeform Campaign - Generals
    - Generals sometimes become the faction leader.

    Bug 27: Battle Crash - Hylian Wizards or King Dodongo
    - The battle crashes. Cause of this may be related to Hylian Wizards of King Dodogo attempting to run.

    Bug 29: Random Crash
    - This crash seems to be linked with clicking on units, but only infrequently. The reporter of this issue was playing a Fairy campaign.

    Bug 32 - Audio Loss
    - When alt-tabbing or minimizing HTW, the sounds are muted upon return.

    Bug 35 - Freeform Campaign - After Battle Crash
    - A documented crash that also existed in 3.5, this crash occurs when finishing a battle that has multiple armies (stacks) involved. It is theorized that this crash occurs due to the execution animation or the total number of units involved.

    Bug 37 - Freeform Campaign - Xexoblin - Auto Victory
    - Note: This bug was foudn in 3.5, not 3.6
    - After the battle was started, it ended with an automatic win for the besieging side. The player was attempting to take Xexoblin from the rebels.
    - The map used the Ashinon model and had Ordona Farmers & Archers as defenders.

    Bug 38 - Kokiri - Shrine of Courage Crash
    - As soon as the Shrine of Courage starts moving, the game crashes.

    Bug 39 - Freeform Campaign - Zant - Troop Recruitment
    - Zant is unable to recruit Sol Nurses, Sol Cannons, Twili Spider Swarms, and Repentants after winning the Civil War.
    - Similarly, I have been unable to recruit Twili Sorceresses after talking Elmenzhia. I can recruit them before I take Elmenzhia, but not after.
    - The reporter accepted Midna's surrender.

    Bug 40 - Freeform Campaign - Trade Fleets
    - Trade Fleets do not work

    Bug 41 - Hero Abilities
    - Essence of Tarm: Drains Morale, not Stamina
    - Demise Bug?
    Spoiler for Detailed
    Desire's Roar of Anguish seems to have caused a bug for me. I won a siege battle with it, causing units to flee. The next few battles were also siege, against a town full of...ugh, I forget the name. Burrowers? I made a ram. The army was formed of lesser fairies, the Essence, Desire, and the Queen. The lessers auto-routed immediately on starting the battle. The Queen is 'Wavering'. At one point I used Tarm's special is desperation-it stopped the rout. Moving them back towards the city made them rout AGAIN.

    Bug 42 - Ordona Province - Malon - Text
    - Text says she comes with Farmer Archers instead of Mounted Farmer Archers

    Bug 43 - Twilight Civil War - Minda
    - Zant is defeated but the Mirror of Twilight is still locked.
    - Settlement progression also seemed to be locked.

    Bug 44 - Twilight Faction - Notifications
    - Many notifications show an error text that says something similar to "do_not translate Aztec unplayable".

    Bug 47 - Freeform Campaign - Stalfos - "The Stalfos Fishermen"
    - Stalfos are in need of AI instead of remaining by their spawn point near a river.

    Bug 48 - Unit Info Picture
    - Gerudo Ice Witches and Vaati require some fix with their unit info picture. SirMark9 forgot what actually was wrong with it.

    Bug 49 - Ayloch & Hasanadorf
    - These settlements may not have been created yet and may be using other levels instead of a unique one.

    Bug 50: Twili - Mirror Gate
    - Upon finishing the structure, crashes the game.

    Bug 51: Kingdom of Hyrule - Zelda II Crash
    - Having Zelda II's bodyguard fight in melee causes a crash to desktop. The crash happens when the soldiers should be unsheating their swords.

    Bug 52: Hawkmen Crash
    - Somehow caused a CTD.

    Last Bug Report - Berak Eisenfaust (Page 45, November 28, 2014)

    In regards to the whole stalfos issue, with them not doing :

    Does anyone else believe that this might just have to do with their placement instead of their AI? Since I can't attack the unit on the river unless there's another unit nearby and they assist in the battle, it appears the spawn makes the computer think that it's locked on an island in the middle of water or something? Perhaps the position keeps them from generating movement points.

    I actually tested this not too long ago, moving the units from their spawn point to an empty space near the horon cemetery (I unfortunately did not keep this data as a reference, as I had recently rolled back to 3.5, I'm so damn sorry ) Turned out fine for me, they went to war the the fairies. Got their ass kicked, but they did something.

    With the new release of HTW 3.7, I have archived the previous compilation and started the list clean with our two favorite reoccurring bugs, the Turn 15 Crash and the After Battle Crash.

    Some bugs from the previous list may still be present in 3.7. If I can get confirmation on them, I will re-add them to the master list.

    Just for good note, since I'm running the hotseat, I had to test this out - the game crashes on the faction screen after exactly ten clicks. May not mean anything, but it's certainly not a 'random' bug - it's happening for a reason. (both single player and hotseat)
