I would like to see some empire maintenance control moved to the higher tier III-IV academic buildings. I see little reason to use them now as its easy to get research otherwise and it would help them serve a purpose late game. I would be willing to sacrifice some research rate or add other negatives for a 3%ish? empire maintenance buff. Particularly to the bardic circles.. those things are just sad.

Good advice. Actually I didn't much paid any attention to the E.M when I started my game, didn't really focus on preventing any increase. I guess you really need to focus on it since turn 1 in order to prevent having a E.M to high to be able to do anything later on.
I'll remenber for my next campaign.

Hey I have been following your advice and it really helped. My empire is bigger and E.M is done to 89%. Putting the generals on bureaucratic stage makes them available to decrease E.M.
    Thanks again guys

Hi there, i really like the Maintenace Issue, this makes the game more Intense and unpredictible, since without it, late game when you have the upper hand it gets boring after couple rounds.
Sometimes you just have to disband some good Armies to not to get bankrupt but hey, itīs still doable ;(
Honestly on H/N sometimes some vanilla bugs are annoying but its a challenge to make the best out of it

Corruption (empire maintenance) is one of the few mechanics that will make the mid-late game challenging.

Love the mod and like empire maintenance in general as a concept. It is fun to have to really work on your economy while having a massive empire. It also takes away the bane of previous total war titles in having a late game of army stacks everywhere. I am finding you can still earn heaps with large Empire, but it takes more work.
