Help please with 7.1 sound after latest Rome II patch EE addition.

Greetings peeps, Sound is currently in 2.1 after patch instead of 7.1, card is a Xonar DSX. A previous patch did the same thing, and I got it working again, problem this time is, nothing I do works.
I am am not very tech savy, so explain in simple terms please.

This is a game issue not hardware. You're better off asking this over at official forums for game support for 7.1 audio solution. It's their responsibility to provide support for their program.

Nevertheless try deleting your preferences.script.txt which stores your audio settings as well. May that ought to fix it. Could be this line, in your case it should be 2.

audio_speaker_configuration 0; # audio_speaker_configuration <int>, 0 = 2.0 Speakers, 1 = 2.0 Headphones, 2 = 5.1, 2 = 7.1 #
