Default Secure promotion (anyone noticed its wrong?)

So you can secure promotion for your house members, getting advantages.
But why on plutos ass you cannot secure promotion of other houses members?
It was a common practice that elected consul gave the highest offices to the opposing faction leaders.

Also, the ranks give nice - army upkeep cost and influence, if you want to prevent civil war, you need to keep other houses generals influential. So you really should be able to promote them as well.

    I didnt notice this.

On the other hand, if you have a general from 'other houses' with at least 3 'ambition'. You'll have a problem.
I had already 2 civil wars, and i had like 70% influence in the senate, and the 'other houses' 30%.
But those civil wars did happen, because of some general from 'other houses' with his 3 ambition whent rogue. And started the rebellion. Loosing several armies/cities.

Better to have only generals from your own 'bloodline'.

Yea, that occured to me, if you recruit/use only generals from your house, you will never ever get civil war now.

Good question to ask CA. Though I doubt their community managers would know. I even doubt the people that made the game know.

    OH you will.

don't forget that the generals of you house pass a fidelity check, if they fail they flip

and you will still lose kind of half your empire

    Lol, that's ed up than.
I just had civil war some 30 turns into campaign playing Antonius fraction. I just took 2 provinces from parthia/allies and there it was.
I cant imagine how can you get Octavians and Lepidus territory without constant civil war eruptions...

It is possible to get civil wars when only your faction tree has generals.

Playing the Octavian campaign, Agrippa (who, by the way would have never rebelled historically, but whatever) and half of my armies defected and became Octavian's Rivals. Since I only had generals from my own family, I lost like 4-5 armies.

    It sucked...
