    Default Creating a World - LOD reduction without texture loss

    This tutorial is designed to create the multiple LOD levels for models which reduce the load on video performance. Most custom models do not have these various level of detail as it usually requires a reskinning of the reduced model which is extensive work.
    In this tutorial the need for reskinning falls away and the only modelling work required is a copying of model comments and a re-assigning of the mesh to the skeleton.

    Update


    • Changed the paragraph regarding textures - these are not optional but essential to generate a correct texture assignment when exported in OBJ format.
    • Added Alpaca's (customized) 'Texture to DDS' converter to the download.
