    Default [SUBMOD DEVELOPMENT] Another (Hi)Story: The Greek Wars

    Hi, this is the development topic for the next version of this submod.

    At the moment,
    the goals of the next version (1.1) are:
    -Addition of a new faction (the Thracians, also Odrysian Kingdom)
    -Expansion of tradable resources in the map, particularly northern and central areas
    -new skins for certain common units
    -new units, mostly barbarian (Thracians, Illyrians) or related to the northern greek kingdoms

    -Added the Odrysian Kingdom as playable faction

    I think it's beyond the scope of this mod, as the timeframe and maps should be completely changed

    (theoric) recruitment roster for the Odrysian Kingdom

    Barracks
    Lvl 1: Light Spearmen
    Lvl 2: Swordmen
    Lvl 3: Romphaiophoroi/Assault Infantry, maybe heavy spearmen

    Cavalry:
    Lvl 1: Light Thracian Cavalry (skirmishers)
    Lvl 2: Noble Cavalry (heavy cavalry)

    Skirmishers:
    Lvl 1: Hunters (tattered archers with high mimetic capacity)
    Lvl 2: Archers (normal archers)
    Lvl 3: Peltasts (Thracian peltasts, way better than the mercenary ones)




    Also, I'd like to insert, only for the thracians, recruitable generals and local units related to the distinct local tribes (Triballi, Gallo-Thracians, Agranians, etc)

    Could I suggest an alternative army roster?

    - Javelinmen (basically equivalent to the javelinmen of the other nations although maybe slightly better)
    - Thracian Peltasts (basically a copy of the mercenary unit we currently have, maybe a few stats better)
    - Heavy Peltasts (would use the same model as the Mercenary heavy peltast that we have, this would be the main infantry unit of the Thracian army and would throw their javelins before charging with spears)
    - a slightly heavier unit that uses a javelin before charging with a sword, based on the light Hypaspist model
    - Maybe a pure swordmen unit representing Gallo-Thracians or Triballi?
    - Rhomphaiophoroi
    -Maybe an elite hoplite equivalent or royal hypaspist equivalent (the Odrysians were quite Hellenised after all)

    As for Cavalry
    - Light Thracian cavalry (equivalent to prodromoi but using the thracian model
    - Medium cavalry (equivalent to the mercenary Thracian cavalry unit)
    - Sarissophoroi (long spear armed cavalry similar to the Athanamian cavalry that the Epirotes have)
    - Thracian royal cavalry (more like the Macedonian Companions)

    And for Skirmishers I would suggest we have Archers (using the petasos model) and slingers

    Okay, first of all: sorry for the late reply! I've not checked the forum lately, so I wasn't aware of the new topic!


    Right now I'm at university, that is in another city so I haven't nor my computer neither my books with me! However as soon the weekend comes I'll be back home! So I can start the faction description and give my two cents about the troop tree by friday!
