Default Imperator Augustus Campaign First Look + Patch 15 Features + New TW Game!?

I take a look at the starting scenario for the Imperator Augustus Campaign and also what Mark Antonys Rome situation is like from the stream from the Total War team. Then I show you some of my campaign for Patch 15 and take a look a the new features, building chains and battle mechanics. At the very end I talk about the fact that we're getting a brand new TOTAL WAR game revealed in a few weeks!

That we get this for free is in my opinion well thought of on CA´s part, I think they are now giving us the product they wanted to release from the beginning. I did not buy CiG or HatG but this one i would definitely have bought if ithey charged money for it.

Edit: Oh and Jerusalem + Syracuse with walls = Win

The object of war is not to die for your country but to make the other bastard die for his.

Imperator Augustus is in reality Total War: Rome II v1.00 - (minus) many things we have loved from other Total War franchise titles. It is what the developers envision this game to be one year ago but could not deliver. For me It does not feel Total War but some other game that tried to outlive the success of its predecessors but failed miserably. I still have the bad taste in my mouth from release day, but I may try to play it again once Imperatus Augustus is release. Lets hope for the best.

Hum... your video just made me want to give this game another try !
So its like i thought when they annouced emperor edition : This is the release we should have had a year ago !

Well i'll wait five days for final release, and I may finally do a real campaign (just like you, I never went very far in the campaign)

With the new patch pulling me out of a quarter long (possibly longer) hiatus from Rome II, I can only hope that EE ends up being decent if not better. I don't mind being just a little hopeful.

I will blunt, I watched as little as I needed to confirm my both optimism and suspicion.
Optimism about possibilities of modding a great Pricipate era campaign.
Endless scenarios eg making The Augustus campaign historical; Antonnine era, campaigns of Trajan, Hadrian, Marcus Aurelius and Lucius Verus; or even perhaps the campaign could lead into the coup de t'a of Septimius Severus.
Sadly the units shown are what I expected red wearing LS Romans all dressed pretty much the same. Luckily units can be modded.

It doesn't seem to me that this campaign will bring any new modding opportunities. The map is the same except for some regions and provinces.

But surely time has moved forward too? In regards to an established Arsasid dynasty on the Iranian plateau, Germanic tribes, and Dacian/ Thracian tribes etc. It certainly helps to have this sort start. The Roman limes are already established, albeit in separate factions.
