    Default AI Recruitment Builds

    I'm going to start posting up AI army builds which i'll be making. These define a template the AI will try to follow when recruiting units for an army. The Unit key assigned to AI recruit has no effect on how the unit behaves on the
    battlefield but its comment sense to make sure they match up. The Types are as follows:

    Cavalry Shock
    Cavalry Melee
    Cavalry Missile
    Infantry Spear
    Infantry Melee
    Infantry Missile
    Infantry Pike

    Cavalry chariot
    Infantry Elite
    Infantry Light (to possible be added to accommodate Peltasts and Thureophoroi and other similar units)

    Hellenistic Greeks
    1 x Cavalry Shock
    2 x Cavalry Melee (Tarantine cavalry)
    2 x Cavalry Missile
    9 x Infantry Pike
    4 x Infantry Light
    2 x Infantry Missile

    Macedonian
    3 x Cavalry Melee (effectively heavy Skirmishing cavalry)
    2 x Cavalry Missile
    8 x Infantry Pike
    4 x Infantry Light
    3 x Infantry Missile

    Syracusan
    3 x Cavalry Melee
    1 x Cavalry Missile
    9 x Infantry Spear (including general with piked Hoplites)
    3 x Infantry Missile
    4 x Infantry Light

    3 x Cavalry Shock (Including General)

    7 x Infantry Pike
    1 X Elite (Argyraspides)
    3 x Infantry Light (Thureophoroi or Peltasts)
    2 x Infantry Missile
    2 x Infantry Melee
    1 x Elephant (If possible)

    you can remove the shock cavalry from the greeks unless it is for a mercenary army or ones that use the AoR Thessalian cav. The factional greek rosters wont have shock cavalry

    These numbers may include cavalry, although they planned to obtain horses in the field so to speak and 800 did so.

    that would roughly equate to:

    2 x Elite Infantry Spear (Hoplites}
    6 x Mercenary Greeks (Mercenary Hoplites and Peltasts although all 'profession' non-Spartan Hoplites and Peltasts could be called mercenaries)
    7 x Syracusans
    5 x Sicilian Allies
    2 x Samnite,
    2 x Gallic
    2 x Etruscan
    2 x Infantry missile
    ( 2 of those units would be Cavalry Melee/Missile)

    These numbers are above 20 so some tweaking is needed

    EDIT: Syracusan along with a number of other Greek factions share there military templates with Athens.

    you can change the configkey in the startpos and create new db template entries for syracuse

    Thracian

    Accounts of Odrysai field 8000 horse and 20000 infantry against the Lysimachos, while the Getai fielded 4000 horse and 10000 unfantry against Alexander (about 28.57% cavalry)

    Given that armies are around 5000-6000, we're looking for 3000 infantry (over 13 units) to 1200 cavalry (over 7 units) as they are a cavalry strong army, provided its OK to up Thracian cavalry size to around 200.

    Thracian

    3 x Cavalry Melee (including the general unit)
    4 x Cavalry Missile
    4 x Infantry Spears
    6 x Infantry Melee (possible infantry light as Peltasts and Cavalry were predominant in Thracian armies)

    for the time being all unit sizes will remain as is at least until we finish the unit overhauls

    The 2x unit size isnt compatible with new patch,I guess?

    mods not updated yet. waiting on the afp mod to update then I will be able to do the startpos stuff and release

    Pergamene started life as an independent state when Philetairs stole 9000 talents from the treasury of Lysimachus had entrusted it to him. Philetairs then went over to Seleucs I. Philetairs didn't declare independence but his successor Eumenes I did. They had no access to there own military settlements and no large Greaco-Macedonian population to provided them with a regular native army so relied on a mix of Greek and non-Greek mercenaries to provide their forces. They never formed a phalanx and accounts suggest they fought with mainly cavalry, peltasts (the traditional lighter type and not the heavier ones) and other light infantry. At Magnesia with Rome Eumenes II had 800 Cavalry, 3000 peltasts, 500 Cretan Archers and 500 Trallianoi Skirmishers. Fighting with the Romans, Pergamene did not need to worry about a lack of heavier infantry. Later they used thureophoroi and Galatians and founded military colonies of there own.

    9 x Infantry Light (peltasts and later thureophoroi)
    4 x Missile (Cretan Archer and other Skirmishers)

    Pergamene ai armies working as intended, although I modified it so Peltests are recruit from L1 main buildings.

    Can you let me know of any military groups that have been added so I can get ratio builds for them.

    the chatti will need their own build and I'll have a better idea of military once we start campaign testing
