Title speaks for itself - make a claim about something related to gaming and lets discuss it
Thought this supervened a lot of threads and deserved its own.

Leliana: You had a difficult life. Deep down, at the center of your being, you are a good person. I believe that.
Shale: Even though I have never demonstrated this aspect? How peculiar.
Leliana: You aren't all stone, Shale. There is a person inside of you.
Shale: If so, it is because I ate it.
OP starts thread, doesn't bother fulfilling it. Reminds me of a lot of games I'm entertained by anyway.
Will bet the thread goes on to amuse me. News at 11.
One thing is for certain: the more profoundly baffled you have been in your life, the more open your mind becomes to new ideas.

Let's think the unthinkable, let's do the undoable. Let us prepare to grapple with the ineffable itself, and see if we may not eff it after all.

"I enjoy remakes of long-dead franchises that are never created with even an ounce of the creativity of their predecessors."
and let's discuss it
That's controversial? I thought it was common knowledge.
I'm sure it already does, to varying degree on a case per case basis. I think it's better for the average and especially the less well-off gamer that unnecessary bling bling is provided as something that costs extra money instead of being made for and priced into the game purchase itself. And the really big DLCs which provide the player with real completely new content are not unlike classical add-ons which cost a lot of money on their own.
Actual remakes tend to be great, staying true to the essence of their predecessor and only changing at most a little bit to account for some fundamental changes and evolution over the years. Relaunches are a different story though. For me Tomb Raider 2013 was one of the biggest disappointments in my whole life.

"Most gamedevelopers couldn't create a realistic female character even if their life depended on it."
So are these actual opinions we are giving or are these supposed to be jokes?
and why are we putting things in quotes if we are the ones making the statement?

Has kinda been already said but - the pre-order system can work in a customer-beneficial way. A bit of risk/reward-managment...
Yup. It's more the setting and art-style that make a game's visuals so engrossing. Killzone might have the superior texture quality but it's hardly creating a lasting impression, unlike Brothers, Sleeping Dogs or Wind Waker.
You could say that RTS has created MOBA's, possible the currently most popular genre. There's also Starcraft II with it's massive E-sport scene and fanbase.
Well, I guess that's not entirely their fault, or restricted to games. Michael Bay's reduction of females to perma-oiled sex objects attracts millions seems to be quite popular...
The perception that this is a huge problem seems to be predominantly "western", too. Japanese games have ridiculous portrayals.
At least there's development. For all her diabolical faults, Anita Sarkeesian made this a major topic and during the last 3 years we saw at least one, arguably three AAA-titles with balanced, original female characters.

"I really enjoyed Diablo 3, even from day one"
"The more day-one DLC that exists, the better."
