Stripes on monitors? Am I sick?

Just a few minutes ago I saw very clear stripes on monitors: vertical, more than 50 pixels wide in the gaps, it's like gray and white stripes background on firefox and kindle, and the stripes are fixed (they don't move when I scroll web-pages; like they're on the surface of monitor).

But I have two monitors: one is Sony TV and the other is computer LED in vertical mode. There is no way both displays get broken at the same time! There is also nothing wrong with my eyeglass since stripes stay fixed when I raise head.

Then I checked my Radeon card by taking a screenshot, enlarging the blank area (with stripes) and then picking colors - but there is nothing but white!


What's wrong with me??

Assuming I was seeing those due to lack of sleep / tiring of my eyes, why would the stripes be arranged vertically and uniform in size?

It couldn't be reflection since I have nothing like that in my room!

But you'd have separate cables.

If you don't have onboard graphics, borrow a friend's card.

Yes, HDMI and DVI. Aren't digital signals supposed to have guaranteed result/quality?
