GW-astartes do not design straight-arms for plasma pistols. So naturally Platoon Commander <someone> cut off his own arm and made a new one. Meanwhile guardsmen #19874201 wanted something for his ammo pack - 1 standard issue strap (wip).

    Whats next?

    More troops! Soon.

Ah yes, the armor, I agree with it, they do look to be less impressive then one would expect. Just know that there are Guards out there that are well armored from head to toe.

That cost of starting up a army, let alone the guard...good luck. I always told myself that if I was going to do the Guard, I would see about trying and starting either Krieg, or Elysian.

So I found this site http://ozhammer.webs.com and they re-sell Warhammer to Aus/Nz individuals at UK prices (however, postage is not in their control ofc). This is pretty good as far as I'm concerned.

It's legal because Ozhammer does not trade with GW; By that I mean, GW doesn't sell its products directly to Ozhammer - there is no contract. Ozhammer staff have to visit a GW retailer store and purchase the Warhammer - like every other customer. But Ozhammer then mails the product to you, passing on the savings.

I can imagine this sort of practice will, poison stores in Aus/Nz. Because Warhammer prices there are so high (there are a few reasons why, not all in GW control). For the online market however, its only a little competition; For example: ebay already has similar prices.

I don't think anyone would say, customers should bend a knee to GW no matter the cost. GW should bend over for us and it would be in their interest. If GW had lower prices in its stores in Aus/Nz, the internet wouldn't be such a competitor and stores here would actually get more customers - greater margins. Also a website cannot copy all the elements that you get by visiting a hobby store. But as it is, GW decided to set higher prices and restrict the locations at which warhammer is sold at. So that the items become more of a premium. As it turns out its only going to kill the market in Aus/Nz, when the are friends like Ozhammer around. Oh well, at least our cousins in the UK will be getting some business. If the market in Australia is doomed anyway, so be it. At least we will all have cheap warhammer.

If there's a group in the US doing a similar thing I'd like to hear it ty. US prices are on average, around 50% cheaper.

How I feel at the moment:

"Now you can get anything you want from GW.

Or you can have whats in this box:"

    "The box, THE BOX!"

Can you guess whats in the box? I'll give you a hint, it can launch a subterranean assault.

Well i'll post something on topic:

If you're looking to get armour for this army, I would recommend looking into a Tank Commander (Or Knight Commander Pask) inside a Leman Russ Punisher. I've been running it in my current Guard list and have had great success with it. Something about 32 BS4 shots per turn that makes Orks and Nids die......or anything for that matter. The main gun gets rending and can potentially glance a Land Raider to death.

32?! Thats crazy... didn't realise a Tank Commander - Leman Russ Punisher had that much potential.

The punished cannon gets 20 shots, and you give it three heavy bolters and a heavy stubber, all of which get 3 shots each.

Ahhha! You forgot to mention the 24" range and no AP (unless its rending, which isn't part of the weapon afaic tell. So rending is part of the tank/crew?).

    Still, scary stuff.

The range is irrelevant. And it's knight commander pask that gives it rending.

    Well your still paying 140 + 30 + 40 (210) points. To put that into perspective I think a Landraider is 225

In this world of Baneblades in regular 40k, a 200pt tank is fine. Its not like you'll run out of points for your cheap, cheap infantry anyways...
