    Default EB2 CAI 3.0 testing

    Sadly we were unable to have a fully worked out CAI in our first release but here's our first attempt at an improved AI for the campaign map. It is save game compatible, most of the time!


    Note this is only a very recent version and should be considered as WIP, as is most of the game. So please test it and provide us with the needed feedback to make further improvements.

    PLEASE START A NEW CAMPAIGN {it may be save compatible for some}

    select Med or Hard campaign difficulty.

    Reduced the amount of changes in diplomatic relations.

    Current features:
    -less passive AI,
    -more immersive campaign from the start,
    -more diplomatic relations,
    -much more movement from the AI.
    -still retains the slow build of the campaign typical of EB.

    Installation instructions:
    1. unzip in your mods\EBII\data folder, make sure it overwrites the old files.
    2. delete the map.rwm file within the mods\EBII\data\world\maps\base directory.
    3. Lauch a new campaign for a new map.rwm to be generated.
    4. Play this new campaign or a save. Hard or Very hard campaign difficulty settings are advised.

    It is an official tester yes.

    I'm sorry but I'm computer illiterate. I extract this file to my Rome 2 folder and then delete the map file? Could you give more detailed directions for us stunted people. Thx so much this mod is amazing.

    In my VH/VH Numidia campaign Carthage had a full stack right by my Capitol and refused to initiate war against me or even attack after I declared war on them (113 turns into the campaign). They refused to attack me under any circumstances, leading to me capturing several of their cities. I just loaded your fix, and while they are still hesitant to declare war, they are now fighting back after I declare war on them. They even sent 1/4 a stack to siege my undefended capitol while their main army engaged mine.

    Going to start a new campaign and see how it goes.

    Your EB2 Data folder,it should have the old files that you need to overwrite.

    Download these files and with them replace the old ones that you have in EB2 folder, you must search the folder where are these two specific files, and then replace them. After that delete the map file

    Replaced the two files and deleted map.rwm. Was immediately rewarded by getting diplomatic advisories at the end of the turn. On the second one, two factions actually started a war..... something which hitherto had not been happening.

    You're on the right track.

    (Some slightly better installation instructions might be in order for people who haven't done a lot of modding.)

    Would like to see a fix for javelin infantry ! They do the animation but no javelin is thrown and ammo count is always max.

    Weird, I haven't seen that. You mean infantry like hastati/Bataroi, or skirmishers?


    Can we get a confirmation that this is save compatible? I'd love to give it a spin, but having started a LP, it HAS to be save compatible.

    would like to see free upkeep for units hotfix... its kinda hard to play as Arverni since none of their units can be kept free..

    I continued my campaign and I think there is quite change, I get a lot of notes almost every turn that someone is in war or made alliance with someone... also as Arverni, I have the south of France in my possesion, and some Rome legion thought it would be good idea to walk through my southern provinces to Pyrenees and start attacking rebel cities there . Gotta go sleep now, tomorrow I will post further feedback

    Yes. Save game compatible. I picked right up and now it seems that nearly everybody is fighting somebody.

    Not savegame compatible with my 150ish turns pontos game it seems, so will probably hold off till I start a new campaign.
