steam messed up, need an update for this mod

from what i hear there was an update to the steam gold version over the summer which made this mod unplayable, i have tried every fix plus countless clean installs but i stiill cant play

Is the update making so the game crash halfway in loading screen when starting campaign?

I can play barbarian invasion on darthmod but it won't allow me to play Rome, crashes on loading to campaign like everyone else.

The problem appears to be caused by a PAK file. Go to your RTW directory and look in the .../data/packs folder. Delete the file called "ui_1.pak". Make a backup first, of course. You should now be able to play a campaign. Let me know how it turns out.
