    Default Human insanity threatens mod. Advice needed!

    I am one of the fellowship that had a dream to create a mod not only as a way for pleasant time but also as a learning tool, trying to bring history in to the gaming process!
    So far so good!
    What worries me is that our mod shows the world arround mediterranean sea between the 9th and 11th centuries.
    That world includes several Islamic factions like tha Abbasids! Someone will ask...so what is the problem!
    The problem is that those insane Islamic fontamelists in north Syria and Iraq use the Abbasid banners and insignias.
    My fear is that few people will misuderstand our inteantion of historical accuracy as "promotion" of these people!!!
    Changing banners (creating clones) is not that hard but the mod will lose its educational porpuse!
    Advice needed...
    Shall we continue as we are risking a "blaim" that our mod promotes those people simply because they chosen (with their minds) those banners of an other era????
    TGC in order to continue its development seak one or more desicated scripters to put our campaign scripts mess to an order plus to create new events and create the finall missing factions recruitment system. In return TGC will give permision to those that will help to use its material stepe by step. The result will be a fully released TGC plus many mods that will benefit TGC's material.
    Despite the mod is dead does not mean that anyone can use its material
    read this to avoid misunderstandings.

    IWTE tool master and world txt one like this, needed inorder to release TGC 1.0 official to help TWC to survive.
    Adding MARKA HORSES in your mod and create new varietions of them. Tutorial RESTORED.

    A millenium later and two World Wars that went through there in one form or another I would not tie your Abbasid emblems to today's ISIS movement. I have the Abbasid Empire in my mod but I have no plans to change them if they do prove to be the same.

    Anthonius, I think you worry too much (on this note anyways)...

    Write up an obvious and solid disclaimer and then include that in the actual release, and in the release notes, and be done with it. If you plainly explain your actual motives for using the stuff and provide links or other basis that proves that the symbols in question precedes the ISIS-crap by (at a minimum) several hundred years there is little to talk about – and so you need not to worry once you have done all of the above. Even if some nutcase really wanted to blame you somehow for it, he/she could hardly do so credibly, after all that. It would be just ridiculous....

    My advice is: ignore ignorants.

    Do the mod as you like it. No one is going to send the Holy Inquisition to your house.

    Seriously, in a nutshell this is the same discussion like "no swastikas on shields in Rome II because thousands of years later some brown hordes used this symbol".
    It may be historically correct, but some people will inevitably feel offended and complain.

    It may be historically correct, but some people will inevitably feel offended and complain.
    That is exactly a same case!!! In our mod we present Islam of religion and culture freedom and tolerance, even under the Abbasid rule (Islamic conservatives).
    But modern people have grown with standard opinions and the worst is that there are real people that still "confirm" that points of view!
    Modern people grow up with fears of symbols and not fear of real issues.
    Swastika is a religion symbol 5000 years older that those nuts that used it to show their insanity! See what happens when someone tries to say something about it!
    That is exact what may happen with the mod's issues!
    Some will say "what is this ? are you funs of these lunitics?" or "what is this lie that Islam was tolerant to other religions don't you see those idiots ?""""
    How someone can convince another one that there was realy a time that despite wars there was indeed a religion and cultural tolerance???
    How someone can convince those that judge history of the past with our modern crazy world problems, that Prophet Mehmet ordered that ALL MUSLIMS must not harm any Christian and Jew???
    Insanity of our modern world came right in the moment that people started to learn the truth!!!!!
    But now -as always- the 1st victim of war is truth!!!!!!!!!!!!

    When RTR 6 first released their Samnite units years ago some people claimed it was promoting Nazism (swastika).

    RTR is still alive even until today.
