Crysis 2007 the crappiest game of all time

...... Why would anyone buy a game based on the graphics alone? Not even about art style or anything, but just for the level of graphical detail?

Then again, lots of people went to see Avatar just for that.. heck it even got lots of praise just for being pretty despite lacking any form of substance, good acting, common sense or anything close to an original thought in the plot.

But really the only thing I remember from Crysis, who much more the later games got linear.
I really did have great fun with the game, but not really the goty for me.

I would take the time to argue the game based on the movie Gods and Generals certainly approaches that level of bad, but it would be off topic to discuss it past that.

You're just being melodramatic for the sake of being melodramatic. Crysis is not that objectively bad, despite its flaws, and you know it.

Crysis is just overrated because of it's graphics only. Like all overrated games they are not necessarily bad but annoying when people rate them one of the greatest ever. Fortunately nobody rates Crysis as one of the greatest ever so I don't see the butthurt about it.

As I stated earlier to Occhi, I was under the impression that this was the main marketing point anyway. It's not like they promised you a compelling plot in the ads.

Crysis was basically "Hey here's a new engine and here's what we can do with it". Other things that followed that used the engine but Crysis was nothing but eye candy and never claimed to be otherwise.

Yet I gotta repeat myself that it's gameplay can be incredibly fun and repeatable which is more then I can say for 80% of FPS post CoD MW.

Quake 4 - has gone unnoticed but is an absolutely amazing game with brilliant singleplayer campaign .
Doom 3 too short only one monster time all the time you soon get use to him and dodge fireballs with ease .
Farcry is better then Crysis 2 imo .

I loved Crysis and Warhead for the scenery porn and the freedom of movement/approach. I replayed certain parts just to try different approach, different strategies, different...well, stuff like killing Koreans with thrown chickens, crabs, and certain parts I did replay just for the atmosphere, like escaping the wrecked Korean base at night, with reinforcements and patrols searching through the forest. Oh man did I have fun playing Predator.

Come Crysis 2, everything is simplified, levels linearized, everything seemed...well, more American-friendly with the simplification and CoD-ification. And the final fight? Hell, I don't even remember the final boss, unlike the ones of first Crysis and Warhead. Especially the fight on the aircraft carrier in the first one was memorable. But this one? Huh. I gotta admit, I finished the second game just for the sake of completing it.

I heard that a lot of people installed the Blackfire Mod. It's certainly impressive looking enough.
