Wow, this is amazing work that you have done here! Excellent work! How differentiated are you guys planning on making the unit rosters for the individual factions? Will the rosters of M2TW be an influence, or will this be entirely organic from the mod itself?
    The answer is 42.

Well I would say it depends on the factions. I would say on the factions I'm working on is about half Medieval 2 inspired and half "organic" as you put it.

I got a minor unit update for everybody! Ghibellines, AOR spearmen that in the eventual campaign will be recruitable in Italy by the Holy Roman Empire. In custom battle they are a slightly heavier version of the Pavisiers. And there are some differences between the two besides the shields, there's heavier surcoats and helmets if you look carefully between the two units. Here's some screenshots(which will be updated in the first post):

Next up is the mildly tedious task of the Italian Knights and Squires as well as improving the shields of the Berrovieri. After that it'll probably be the Italian Castellans, etc, etc

If you're still in the planning stages of the Bohemian roster, Warman, I've got an idea for how to handle the War Wagons: We could make them only function as deployables. There would be a unit of ten slow-moving wagons that can be deployed in a stationary circular formation from an abilities button (like pikemen deploying their pikes in R2), with five crossbowmen (or one light cannon) in each wagon able to fire out in all directions when the wagons are deployed. They would only be able to fire in this stance. The units inside would be protected from melee, although the wagons could be destroyed by flaming arrows and siege weapons. This would allow the Bohemians to take and hold ground in a pitched battle, and be a more historically accurate use of War Wagons.

@Lord Giovanni I like the idea but I'm ont sure if I can get that to work. That might have to be implement later like the pavise barricade thing.

@BalrogOfMorgoth I did but I'm trying to focus on other stuff and you said the current one was accurate as well, so I'm just going to go with that.

Speaking of other stuff I have another mini preview for everyone. The Italian Knights and Squires. Note that with both the Italian(and Spanish)Knights still need their barded horses and officers.

Regarding barded horses... did Italians and Spanish kingdoms use them at this time? I recall in the illuminations I've looked at that the southern europeans tended to opt out of great helms and barding for longer than the northern europeans. I'll have to get back on sources though until after the weekend. Either way, excellent work so far

Well I'm not sure myself, I just assumed that they did. That would explain why no one has brought up the barded horse thing before though. If that's the case then that'll make things easier for me. My next two Italian units are the Castellans and the Guelphs(the Italian version of the Ghibellines).

So I decided to get some modding work done today as well despite my feelings yesterday. I finished up the Guelphs, the Castellans and I've got one more in the pipeline that I want to put together using the current assets, the Stipendarii. Because of my research shows that many of those guys were mercenaries from German places I'm putting this unit in as a medium-heavy swordsmen unit kind of filling a similar role as the English Sergeants. They will have a mix of German and Italian coats of arms. Also because of the Merc style of the units it will replace the Mercenary Infantry unit for the Italian nations. Once I'm finished with that third unit I'll post some screenshots.

Nice job. I have a question regarding units, sorry if this has been answered.

Will there be Special units for factions, that you can only have a certain number of? Like Jerusalem having Hospitallers or something like that?
August Strindberg: "There's a view, current at the moment even among quite sensible people, that women, that secondary form of humanity (second to men, the lords and shapers of human civilisation) should in some way become equal with men, or could so be; this is leading to a struggle which is both bizarre and doomed. It's bizarre because a secondary form, by the laws of science, is always going to be a secondary form. Imagine two people, A (a man) and B (a woman). They start to run a race from the same point, C. A (the man) has a speed of, let's say, 100; B (the woman) has a speed of 60. Now, the question is 'Can B ever overtake A?" and the answer is 'Never!'. Whatever training, encouragement or self-denial is applied, the proposition is as impossible as that two parallel lines should ever meet."

So next up for the Italians is the Communal units. These are the units that will be available to all the Italians not just the northern ones. Now admittedly I'm not sure how I'm going to go about with these but I'll figure something out.
