Default Odd problem with blood and gore dlc

My game has not updated and i haven't changed anything in the settings nor have i added any new mods other than those that i usually use and those have also not updated.

However for some reason every time i start Rome II i get this message:

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

Ive restarted the game and restarted steam aswell, but for some reason it keeps on popping up, blood and gore checkbox is no longer in the graphical settings either :

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

    Any help ?

Edit: Ive also verified the cache, didnt work

Same issue....I have threads open on the Steam forums, and in tech support on the official forums (as well as one in the tech support forum here); seems to be everybody, and not related to region or version. Verifying cache does nothing, although my Library does show this DLC (and only this one) not installed. I can verify CiG and HatG are still installed, and work fine.

The Steam forums are losing their minds, so at least SOMEbody with button-pushing authority should see it soon.

-Go into steam - Rome II - Right click - click on the DLC tab - see if the DLC check boxes are ticked (if they aren't tick them and they'll download)

    If that doesn't work

-just try exiting out of steam, restarting your pc and then proceed into steam and the game.

EDIT: look at the blood & gore dlc and you'll see it's not installed. so not sure why it's that even though mine is ticked.

Yeah just noticed it's like that on mine.

Yep, was one of the first things I tried.

My current theory is that they (Steam) were staging patch 14 files, and cocked something up.

It is weird because Steam says that nothing's been updated or downloaded and i haven't made any changes to it either.

Is it even possible for something like this to even happen without any additional files being added or taken away ?

Per the thread on the Steam forums, this happened to a CA user, too; the error popped up in-game during a Twitch stream.

So, at least it'll get escalated to Valve efficiently.

I`ve said it again and again and again. Going Offline but still staying connected to the internet allows Steam to still do all sorts of things if it wants to (or even the games makers themselves through Steam). Offline with Steam is not truly offline. The only way to guarantee it won`t do something while you`re `offline` is to physically disconnect your ethernet line from your PC.

The fact that Steam keeps this ever so quiet from everyone is just another reason why i don`t like or trust them.

You know, I've never agreed with the extent and ferocity of your stance against Steam (I still think the benefits of the service outweigh the negatives)....but this is indeed a good illustration of just what those negatives are. Losing access to paid content on a single-player game, even if it is just a graphical enhancement, is always irritating....especially when chances are good we lost it because of pre-deployment work for a patch that isn't even in release yet.

Maybe we'll see CA release a hot fix dlc

(I'm trollishly joking, I'm sure CA will fix it $oon)

((Could not help it, again, I'm joking))

Also for me C.I,G, which I bought on release is no longer installed! Neither is any of the free dlc! This is complete B.S. C.A. Has it's head up it's ass!

Me too I was half way through a C.I.G. campaign and now the save is gone and it says the d.l.c. is uninstalled? What the hell is C.A. up to? Self destruction? They already released two steam patches that effed Rome 1 and Med 2 this week! What the hell is going on!
