Private Message from King Henry of Burgandy to Prince Affonso of Portugal

    Oh were to start?
We were once a mighty nation controlling most of Spain. We had them down to a single territory...
now we had two. we never expected the Moors, but the came, however with lack of leadership they lost many territories to rebellion.
For nearly 50 years Portugal has been in the dark, now we must come to the light.
You my son never saw the the Moors come but will hopefully see them go.
I am old and tired. I will try to help you but it wont be much.
I sent a letter to your brother Jahao, he will control a different army.
I hope I live to see the day when Portugal rules Spain.

I will join with your army soon after this message is delivered.

Words of Prince Affonso of Portugal:

As I was told my father arrived only three days after I got his message.
I was surprised when I was told to take charge, I have never commanded a real army but I am happy to do so.
We were marching to a town that belonged to the Moors. scouts reported the garrison was weak and unprofessional
The march would take three seasons, however my brother Jahao is already besieging Zaragoza, it is also his first full army, so I pray the best for him.

The Diary of the Great Campaign-Jahao

I now feel something I have never felt before... was it what they call fear?
Whatever it is I do not like it. I don't like the idea of war, but I fear it?
No I will not let it be I will not cower before the enemy, I will destroy them!
The equipment is ready, glory awaits!

The battle of Zaragoza 1080 A.D.

The first thing I ordered was the battering rams to tear down the walls.
They did so and surprisingly the enemy didn't rush to attack, instead they cowered in the town square foolishly giving us an advantage to flank.
The enemy were simply town militia and spear militia and practically worthless.

I sent my archers forward to give us he early advantage while the mailed knights flanked

The mailed knights had a surprising amount of casualties, but over all it was a clear victory

I send my best to my brother and father may their conquest be great.

Diary of the great campaign-Prince Affonso of Portugal

I receive this great news from my brother just before I myself am going to battle, however this battle is against the Moors.
This battle is for vengeance, glory, power and the reign of Portugal. They are fools that they had not surrendered but, their loss.

    Battle of Cordoba 1090 A.D.
The battle was as easy as expected the enemy garrison was mainly militia and archers.
I sent my siege equipment to breach the walls.

Sadly, my soldiers lost many to arrow fire. Finally we fought them off the walls.

We surrounded their only spear militia and easily defeated them.
Their only units left were town militia and archers.

After that it was all too easy. Portugal:1 Moors:0

From the Diary of the Great Campaign 1090 A.D.

After the many victories all across Spain Jahao went on to attack "The Cid the Chivalrous

    -Jahao

What a terrible name. El Cid the Chivalrous.
He's not Cid heeeeee's THE Cid
    Calm down Jahao stop laughing.
After I finally regained control of myself I ordered the siege equipment ready.
I made sure everything was in in place before I began the assualt.

It was not an easy affair as their archers were surprisingly well trained.
Sadly the rest of these reports were lost and nobody knew how what we do know is that it was clear victory.
    Another day, another victory.
Time to play a major prank on the townsfolk.
I think today I am going to have all my soldiers change into the rebels armor and try to convince the townsfolk.
I will see if this one works I sure hope so

    -Affonso

After receiving this piece of good news
it is time to assault Granada

This battle was no problem at all The ladders and siege tower quickly made it to the walls before too many casualties occured.
Their weakling archers were no match for our spearmen and were easily taken down.

Then, their foolish desert cavalry came to attack our spearmen.

It took awhile, but with few casualties.

This great victory is a powerful landmark for our people. There are no longer any Moors in Spain. Now for the rest of them.

    -King Henry of Burgandy

I am proud of my children. truly I have done nearly nothing in this attempt at redemption.
Now, there are no Moors in Spain and I am sending armies to Africa to finish to them off. "The Sultan of Africa" was begging for a ceasefire.
Yet of course the, answer was no.

From the Diary of the Great Campaign:

We have recently done some very helpful diplomacy.

I was very surprised when this worked.

More news reached our ears: a war with Spain.

    Battle of Bordeaux 1102 A.D.

The enemy outnumbered us but lacked greatly in experience.

A simple flanking movement and the battle was over.

The enemy were hunted and killed. It was truly a clear victory.

    2nd battle of Bordeaux 1108 A.D.

The siege equipment was slow and by the time we reached the walls we had lost half our men.

The enemy infantry stopped our advance.

We tried the strategic approach but they cancelled it out.

The battle was truly in our hands but the foolish peasants ran.
Shame on them for their foolish deeds.
    This was a devastating loss.

    Prince Affonso:

    This truly devastated me.
Could these great victories come to an end? I would not allow
I am training more troops to join with the remnants of that army.

After this I received a messenger from Laurencius saying that he was assualted by bandits and lost the reports.
However, we do know that it was a clear victory and the Moors had one remaining settlement.

The final battle of the Moors 1110 A.D.

I want it to be I myself to slay this Moorish bastard.

    Two units of generals bodyguard.
    Such cowardice.

As soon as my men broke the gates the battle was ours.
Every missile unit showed great power against the cowards.
We sandwiched the enemy between our two generals bodyguards.

As I wished, the last Moorish general was slain by my sword.

Let the Portugese rejoice! the Moors are dead.

    -Prince Affonso
I decided to open this package in the council, just in case it was any good.
When I lifted the Moorish head from the basket the entire council erupted in applause.
I had never seen a group of people so happy

Now finally, the Moors have gone down in history, as losers.
