Thread: [UPD 20 AUG 16] Preview: Dwarves of Erebor

I guess for balancing only. If one can point me to a passage where Tolkien mentiones this, but things in games based on a books dont have to be 100% lore friendly.
I guess they just wanted to have more mounts for people to buy with real money^^ only ponies wouldnt attract enough buyers.

Wow looks awesome! I'm SO excited for this mod! If you want me to make any LEGO animations (like this one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_EissEX8pmE) in support of the project, I'd be very willing!

I love the model, my only minor suggestion would be a little bit more color, maybe some more variation in the colors, copper inlay or gold...perhaps. Its a bit monotonous right now, as awesome as the details are.

The hobbit movie delivers the concept for the helmet. It is infact this monotonous. I'll see how it looks once the entire armor is done. Nevertheless, thanks for your feedback.

Could you make a couple of models exactly like this but with the gold highlights or something? As far as I know it's just small changes and save as and unit variation is one of the best things about R2.

I am me. You are not me. You are you. If I was you, I wouldn't be me.
If you were me, I'd be sad.But I wouldn't then be me because you'd be me so you wouldn't be me because I wasn't me because you were me but you couldn't be because I'd be a different me. I'd rather be any kind of bird (apart from a goose) than be you because to be you I'd have to not be me which I couldn't do unless someone else was me but then they would be you aswell so there would still be no me. They would be you because I was you so to restore balance you would have to be me and them meaning all three of us would become one continously the same. That would be very bad.

I have made a few dirty/bloddy versions so far. If I have time I might do some gold highlights just for you .

These dwarves like look fantastic; and a goat-cavalry would be simply hilarious.

Here is our last progress of the dwarven faction. We are working on a skeleton for the dwarven body to start creating the armor.

You should work on the normals. They appear to be not united, giving an edgy look.

You guys have no idea how absolutely insane exited i am.... I just found out yesterday that you guys are building this MOD. I played TATW so many hours because it gives me the feeling everytime i watch the LOTR movies.
I hoped for so long there would eventualy be a version with better graphics & animations. I really love TATW but the old and rather ugly graphics are beginning to wear down. U guys brought a tear to my eyes and i so hope u will make it the best possible.
To bad i dont have the skills to be helpfull at all but i will do whatever for the support what is needed to let the MOD see daylight. Sorry for my bad english but i hope the context is there.

With friendly and inspiring greetings from André van der Werf, The Netherlands

    Thanks, Andre.
Your lack of skills doesn't mean you can't help. Just if people ask you say there are a mod(maybe that one asker would be great modder, who knows). As larger community is then more helpers we have, isn't it?

! Could it be a idea to ask a school wich offers a gaming devolpement education to see if people are interested? i work at a municipality so i have connections @ school in the city of Leeuwarden! I would like to adress it in terms of gaining experience in the work field if that is anything helpfull? I strongly believe that if there are students that have skills and they want to mix them in there resume to be able to get work in the industry later on?
