stainless steel stopped working???
I have windows 8 and steam. SS installed fine and even worked. Went back to play it and it says mss32.dll is missing and to reinstall the game. So I uninstalled SS and reinstalled it and same message. Does it mean to reinstall M2TW?

Re: stainless steel stopped working???
I thought I was going crazy, but something happened with my launcher as well that caused me to be unable to run the game today (got an error about "Just in time" something or other with a long Windows error report).
However, the fix was very simple. It turns out that my kingdoms.exe file was deleted! Very strange. Thankfully I had a backup of the .exe because I used the 4GB memory patch a while back. Copying the .exe back into the M2TW directory fixed my problem immediately. I have no idea how it was deleted to begin with, but I did see that something was "updated" in Steam...
If anyone else has this issue, you should check to make sure your Kingdoms.exe is still in the M2TW directory. If you don't have the .exe backed up, verifying your cache should do the trick (I think!).

Re: stainless steel stopped working???
In case you do not have an old copy of kingdoms.exe it works fine now if you just copy paste medieval2 into your MTW2 folder as "kingdoms"
#1 Go to your default medieval 2 folder,
#2 Copy "Medieval2" https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/...2008.48.56.png
#3 Paste it in the same folder and rename the copy to "Kingdoms" https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/...2008.49.44.png
#4 Go to your SS folder and run SS Launcher as admin. https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/...2008.55.23.png
#5 Enjoy, border-less mode + steam support now.
