Help with hotseat campaign?

Hi, I was wondering if there is a way to disable hotseat campaign? If I understand correctly, the hotseat campaign is needed for the twili civil war to work, but I don't really care about it (for now). The reason i ask is it makes the end turn EXTREMELY slow, and it lags my army movement on the campaign map

You know to make sure that only one faction is glowing right? Your question is about removing the function entirely?

yes, and yes. Even when i only control one faction, the end turn takes FOREVER, that's why i want to remove the function

It hasn't been an issue for me, but I wouldn't be surprised if it bogged down a lot of the processing.
