Default How the heck do you download this thing?

Ok so I've got the files, unzipped, created a folder called Sands of Conquest, and I can't launch this. There seems to be no installation instructions?

Okay so you've downloaded it and unpacked it great.

What you need to do is extract the files (using a program like 7zip) to your kingdoms\mod folder and then double click the .bat file to play the game, let me know if that doesn't get it to work for you.

Also, have you got the Steam version of Kingdoms or not?

Oh and when you say it won't launch do you mean it launches and then crashes straight away with an unspecified error, or you just can't play open the game at all?

Yep, I've unpacked it, but I haven't got an icon which will let me launch.

My default program is this Crogram files(86x) Medieval 2 Total War/mods.

I installed this in the mods folder.

Should I have installed this in the main Medieval 2 total war folder instead? Because I installed it, and then what happened was there was no mod folder for it, so I assumed you had to make a new mod out of this.

It bascially said when I first installed this,

    C/Programs(86x) Medieval Two total war

    But no mods.

So I just clicked on mods and created an Sands of Conquest folder.

However, the bat folder wasn't letting me launch into the game and I fear I may have not done the installation thing correctly

No, unfortunately I do not posses the steam version of this game.

Hmm you should just have to unpack it to the \mods folder, could you post a screenshot of what you see in the folder at the minute?

How was the .bat folder not letting you launch the game? Like what happened when you clicked on it and stuff.

Ok so here's what I did:

    First unpacked:

Second, I go to my files to install the thing through Local Disk C:

Thirdly: I progress to the medieval two total war folder:

Note, that I go to mods section with an already sands of conquest folder, but I have deleted this folder by now.

And I copied it into the main folder first, to see if it would launch, and all I got was this:

And then the same with mods:

So then I am not doing something right am I?

Your path to the BAT file should read so: medieval ii total war\mods\sands_of_conquest\executable.bat

Which means you copy the content from your first pic into the medieval ii total war\mods\sands_of_conquest folder. Then make a desktop shortcut by right clicking the executable.bat file and choose 'send to...\desktop (create short cut)'

You have kingdoms installed so you should have no further problems.

    Cheers mate, it worked!

But I am unable to load the factions on the campagin map, it loads but it then just jumps back to the normal screen.

So I press on the faction, press start, the loading screen comes on, the symbol loads, it loads and the campagin map does not appear.
Do I need to download Geo mod?

The crash to menu is a game related issue. But first let's check if it might be virtual store related because of all the copying: do this tutorial from step 3 onward and then delete the medieval ii total war folder in the virtual store. Then try again.

    Thanks Gigantus

Though I believe the reason why the campaign map is not loading is because I don't think I've installed your Australia campaign map mod.

very simple: simply download the mod (winrar package) copy the "sands of conquest" folder to your mods folder, once done open the Sands of Conquest folder and click the "executable bat." file and play!, these instructions are also right next to the download link too
"important: this requires a manual install
download mod package then winrar to dektop & copy to medievalII/mods
optional create a desktop short for the bat. (executable file) (right click create desktop short cut )"
