    No problem!

The next roster is that of XiXia (Western Xia), otherwise known as the Minyaks or Tangut Empire.

Many of the unit_info pictures do not match the actual unit model, I surmise that this is because the units are being redone or the pictures came from another mod.

Strength: Large numbers of tribal infantry, cavalry units readily available yet reliable.
Weakness: Mediocre economy, starting location is far from profitable land.

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

    Western Xia General's Bodyguard

Western Xia Tribal Spearmen (The characters used are Zhuang Ling Lang, which is a term used for captured enemies of the Western Xia and/or levies given weapons and forced to fight as a vanguard meatshield)

Heng Mountain (Heng Shan) Hillmen , though the last few characters translate to a term referring specifically to XiXia Regular Infantry

Shield Bearers of the Inner 6 Guards My interpretation of the characters though one can just call them XiXia Royal Swordsmen. They are considered an elite in the Tangut armies.

Golden Halberds of the Inner Six Guards

Steel Hammers of the Inner Six Guards

    Tribal Infantry

    Heng Mountain Skirmishers

    XiXia Crossbowmen

    Tribal Riders

Heng Mountain Qiang Cavalry (the Qiang character used is that of a surname, doesn't have a definition)

Rpyal Cavalrymen of the Inner Six Guards

    Ping Mountain Iron Sparrows

XiXia Beiwei Soldiers (it appears they had their own version of the Towering Back Soldiers?)

These look great! I love the unit cards and how they are period style drawings instead of just a picture of the ingame units, like what Creative Assembly did in Shogun 2.

So, about how different will Shaoding and AUH be in the end? How much is being shared, like the actual units or just research?

Also, the Shaoding team helped with the 'Kara Khitan Khaganate' faction for 'Broken Crescent', that's neat.

Unit models are definitely being shared, and since for AUH models and research go hand-in-hand I believe they are collaborating on multiple levels.

Regarding differences, I would say AUH is taking the route of Europa Barbarorum in terms of historical accuracy whereas Shaoding is emphasizing on the rise of the Mongols and their conquest of the Tanguts, Kara Khitans, the Jin, and the Song. However, Shaoding isn't lacking either in the accuracy department but it doesn't go as deep as AUH would. There is definitely a bigger focus on Chinese and Chinese-influenced factions and less on other factions such as Japan, Goryeo, etc.

Yes, I saw the collaboration. Was fun playing the role of the diplomat translating the BC team's message into Chinese on the Shaoding team's forums. The Chinese player base expressed joy that Chinese mods are being recognized in the English-speaking community. I certainly would hope to see more content and skill being shared in the future.

Today's roster is that of the Liao Empire or Kara Khitan.

Strength: Strong heavy units and cavalry.
Weakness: Scattered, large expanse of territory, has to rely on indigenous (AoR) units.

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

    XiLiao (Khitan) Royal Bodyguard

    Khitan Warriors

    Tribal Spearmen

    Dismounted Vanguard "Camp" (or Soldiers)

    Khitan Spearmen

Orda/Ordu (from the Mongol word for "horde") Spearmen

    Khitan Archers

Hamili Archers (Hami is a city)

    Naiman Archers

    Khitan Steel Forest (Tielin) Soldiers

    Khitan Tribal Light Cavalry

    Khitan Scout Cavalry

    Khitan Royal Cavalry

These are the rosters of the Taira (red) and Minamoto (blue) clans.

Strength: Strong elite troops in the form of monks and samurai.
Weakness: Lacks cavalry and unit variety, units are difficult to replenish.

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

    Minamoto

    Taira

    Naginata Cavalry Bodyguard

    Japanese Sailors

    Sword Levy

    Naginata Attendants

    Naginata Samurai

    Bow Levy

    Bow Attendants

    Bow Warrior Monks

    Foot Samurai

Hatamoto (though the characters say Horoshu, but they're not wearing horo.)

This is the Tibetan Roster. The units scream AUH, and I do realize that one of the preview scrolls of AUH had a lot of detail on the faction of Tibet.

Strength: Strong yet numerous heavy infantry, above average tribal troops.
Weakness: Weak during the beginning of the campaign, over reliant on indigenous (AoR) troops.

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

    Tibetan General's Bodyguard

    Tibetan Tribal Spearmen

    Tibetan Regular Infantry

    Kham Spearmen

    Tibetan Noble Spearmen

    Tibetan Tribal Archers

Kham Archers (I think AUH used Khampa?)

    Tibetan Noble Horse Archers

This faction actually doesn't show up on the English wikipedia, but it's called the Qi Empire, though historians usually just refer to it as Da Qi or False Qi.

During an interim between the Jin-Song wars, the Jin set up a puppet kingdom in the territory previously occupied by the Northern Song. Liu Yu, a Song defector, was enthroned its emperor. It only lasted eight years before being dissolved by the Jin.

    Strength: Numerous militia troops.
Weakness: Cultural unrest in campaign, lacks a strong unit.

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

    Qi General's Guard

    Qi Light Infantry

Qi Medium Swordsmen (characters are "cui feng", which translates to Sharp Destroyers)

    Qi Light Spearmen

    Qi Forbidden Guard Pikemen

    Qi Forbidden Guard Swordsmen

    Qi Light Archers

    Qi Light Archers

    Qi Forbidden Guard Archers

    Qi Forbidden Guard Crossbowmen

    Qi Forbidden Guard Cavalry

I have downloaded both Shaoding and Manjianghong. Shaoding closes after some seconds in the first loading screen. And the Manjianghong window closes when I try to play any free battle.
Does any one knows why is this happening? How can solve this problem?

First off, you should change your computer's system locale to Chinese (PRC, Simplified) so the game knows how to read the Chinese files.

Manjianghong has too many units assigned to a single faction so it'll crash during the free battle troop selection.

I think that should fix it. If not, please reply.

This is the roster of the Dali Empire.

Strength: Positioned in the mountains, has fierce and battle-ready light infantry units.
Weakness: Lacks heavy units and cavalry.

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

    Dali General's Mounted Guards

    Dali Peasant Levy

    Dali Swordsmen

    Dali Zhanmadao (Horse-Cutting) Swordsmen

    Dali Twin Swords

    Myanmar/Burmese Mercenary Native Javelinmen

    Myanmar/Burmese Mercenary Native Longbowmen

    Dali Archers

    Dali Crossbowmen

    Dali Javelinmen

    Dali Warriors

Indeed. I feel like I can draw parallels between these factions and some Rome 2 factions.

Western Xia and possibly Western Liao seem to have some Chinese influence. They remind me of a mixture of Steppe + "civilized" hybrids, like perhaps Bactria and Indo-Saka. Mongols would be Sauromatae. Dali would be like Massalia, they seem to have all the weaponry of the more civilized lands but they're lighter equipped and focus on speed.

    Anyway, enough of my rambling.

This is the last roster I will be showing (unless they finish Goryeo in the next update, whenever that is) and it is that of the Mongol Empire.

Strength: Reliable tribal warriors; numerous, strong cavalry units.
Weakness: Lacks elite infantry, weak starting position.

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

    Khan's Guard

    Han Levy Swordsmen

    Tribal Spearmen

    Han Levy Spearmen

    Kalmyk Elite Shock Infantry

    Mongolian Archers

Dismounted QiYan Mongol (Qi Yan is a term referring to the golden family, or rather, the imperial family associated with Genghis Khan) Cavalrymen

I'm having trouble putting the words "突襲" into an appropriate English name. It translates into Ambushers, or literally Sudden Strike, but these guys don't fit the definition of sneaky ambushers. They're more like fast attack troops. Should I just call them dismounted horse archers?

    Dismounted Keshiq Marksmen

    HuChiJia Vanguard Cavalry

    Kheshigs

    Mongolian Tribesmen

    Mongolian Riders

    LuChiTeng Horse Archers

The unit preview for Goryeo is in another thread, but the faction hasn't been updated in version 0.82.

It's currently the only faction without a complete roster.

Let's hope so. If not, we do have some Chinese-history mods released for both RTW and M2TW.
