unlock factions/police bonus doubts

Hi,

I am na old member that was away for some time.

Recently I bought Shogun II FotS and I am beginning to mod it.

So, two newbie questions from a very rusty guy:

1. How do I unlock other factions to play with?

2. Where is the police bonus in the data file? I want to give the "Kyoto police" a police (repression) bonus. I saw some mods that give that to some units.

1. How do I unlock other factions to play with?

Thanks to CA's bad UI design, it is not possible to add new factions to the game. However, you can deactivate some of the existing factions and overwrite them with new ones. That's a bit complicated though for a beginner.

2. Where is the police bonus in the data file? I want to give the "Kyoto police" a police (repression) bonus. I saw some mods that give that to some units.

It's in unit_stats_land. Look for "garrison policing bonus".

For now I will leave 1 and will go for 2.

As a side note I must say to you that I still not digested the 4-0,
If I would bet it that suspicious sites I would bet in Germany for the final!
