    The fountain guard are pretty good, are you planning to increase the detail and texture complexity before you put them ingame?

    There will be only a few changes on the model itself before importing. The texture is not completely done yet and will be edited (especially the gloss-map).

    That makes sense, is this unit all one model i.e. some of the unique generals in vanilla or is it like most vanilla units where its made out of many variant mesh models and references over a skin?

    Thanks for your engagement, but we already did our research (we have nearly every concept art and screenshots from "The Hobbit" and "LOTR"). You can expect some previews of the dwarven faction very soon.

    Hey guys, i am a "rings' fans from Hong Kong . Very exciting to see there are a new group working on Lord of the rings Mod. Since the total war middle.c , there are no mod about LORD OF THE RING. Don't give up and continue to work on it , i am looking

    As of right now, I believe the campaign map cannot be touched. I honestly haven't heard any word about the SDK release either.

    EDIT: No worries, though. With an undertaking like this, there probably won't be a shortage of work.

    News and Updates

    1. General

    Hey to all!

    I'm glad to be able to bring some news and updates in this post.

    First of all some short sentences to our current point of development...
    2. Progress

    We're progressing in many areas and actually working on the faction of Gondor, Harad, Erebor and Rhun. In addition we're working, discussing and designing the User Interface.

    To give an overall view which factions will at least be included in the base mod:

    Faction List

    • Mordor
    • Isengard
    • Elves (of Lothlorien? -> not decided right now)
    • Dwarves of Moria
    • Dwarves of Erebor
    • Gondor
    • Rohan
    • Harad
    • Easterlings of Rhun

    Important!:
    There will come two new threads to preview Harad and the Easterlings of Rhun, too, but these will be the last previews of single models or equipment. After this we intend to preview at least complete units (maybe even only a few of them). The reason why we chose this way is to give the player a completely new terrain to discover in the end when the mod is released.
    3. Previews

    This is the preview thread for the Gondorian faction so I'm going to make it true with some pictures of first ingame tests:

    Wow! Much fountain, Very guard, many feathers. WOW
    Only one thing thou. Why the feathers on the head look so strange. Are they supposed to be fluffy like this ?

    To get detailed feather borders I'll figure out how to create them with the alpha channel of the textures. This is a good solution to add details without increasing the polycount dramatically. Right now you can see the raw format of the feathers.

    We're at an early point of development at this time and don't intend to throw out any content because all things are in progress. Sometimes models or other things are looking finished but in the end they will be improved or changed. There'll come releases but right now I only can say that it is not possible to test content.
    Maybe we'll choose some beta testers to have first ingame looks into the mod when we're further on our long road.

    ok i see, just thought i'd put it out there but never the less keep up the great work and i hope someone starts to mod the Mordor and Isengard factions soon as it would be interesting to see how they are gonna create different faces and the like.
