Default Rome: Total War - Music [Updated 14/08/2015]

    Info

This mod, the first of it's kind, fully implements the music of Rome: Total War into Rome II. It includes a variety of tracks for the campaign map, battle mode, the main menu, loading screens, and more. It will also play a cultural specific mix of songs when selecting a faction to begin a new campaign with.

    Steam Download - http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfile.../?id=263097925

    Non-Steam Download - http://www.mediafire.com/download/et...music_rtw.pack
To install place the .pack file in your data folder (found through the pathway "Steam/SteamApps/common/Total War Rome II/data")

    Spoiler for Mod in Action!

    Compatibility

It is save-game compatible and will work with any other mod, with the obvious exception of other music mods.

    Credits

Many thanks to the good folks of Creative Assembly and Audiokinetic for making this a possibility. This project and associated toolset is a direct follow-up from the Mod Summit 2014, so once again thanks to CA for putting us up and putting up with us!

The team: Noif; .Mitch; Kinjo; Radious; spartan.warrior; wangrin; Grudge; Mackles

    Details

As you will notice in-game, while we do use the original tracks it is not possible in all cases to map the triggers directly to the corresponding triggers in R:TW. For example, Battle Marching music will start after the player presses the "Start Battle" button, instead of when giving their first move/attack order. The full list of tracks included is as follows:

    AWWWW SWEET JESUS. GREAT MOD.

This is great. Now we just need added battle sounds and screams and all those kinds of things.

It's just a shame that the "movement" song starts when you start the battle and not when you actually decide to move your troops . :\ But that's the engine's fault so xD

Great work however this got done. Much appreciated.

Though, I was wondering if you guys would be willing to post the project file in Wwise for this? I've been working on my own for a few hours (for personal use) and couldn't quite get the hang of it. Kept getting error messages related to the loading screen. I read the tutorial, but I'm not 100% sure what I'm supposed to do. Even without the loading screen, I end up with silence. It's frustrating because I'm probably just missing a simple detail.

    Regardless, thanks for the mod.

Sorry guys...I installed the mod but when in campaign map playing Rome, all music parts are non Roman ...Is that natural (music parts apear/play in random no matter what faction you play)???
Question Is it the same that CA posted in General Discusion ??

TGC in order to continue its development seak one or more desicated scripters to put our campaign scripts mess to an order plus to create new events and create the finall missing factions recruitment system. In return TGC will give permision to those that will help to use its material stepe by step. The result will be a fully released TGC plus many mods that will benefit TGC's material.
Despite the mod is dead does not mean that anyone can use its material
    read this to avoid misunderstandings.

IWTE tool master and world txt one like this, needed inorder to release TGC 1.0 official to help TWC to survive.
Adding MARKA HORSES in your mod and create new varietions of them. Tutorial RESTORED.

Does this add or replace the music?

    Also, offtopic, I didn't know of a non-Steam version or Rome 2?

    Replace.

I'm in love with this mod! Well done.

There are some issues with volume and transition between tracks, however.

In battle, the soundtrack overpowers the other sounds while in the menu it's very soft. Sound balancing needs to be improved a little.

Also, the tracks don't seem to have the best transition between themselves.

Can you talk more about how those issues might be worked on?

Other than that, bloody great mod.

when i use the non-steam download, it doesnt work. i select it in the modmanager and it just plays the regular music instead of the original rome music

Great mod guys! I do get a lot of tracks that keep repeating themselves on the campaign map as Macedon. One song plays five times, and only then switches to a new one.

When I've got the time I'll post up the RTW project as an example, hopefully along with some tips and pointers.

A certain level of differentiation in volume is intended. However, we are planning to do some tweaks to this area. We've only had a very small focus group up until release, so more feedback is very welcome.

As far as transition goes, this is another area we'll seek to improve on and tweak, although not all changes made in Wwise end up having the desired effect, depending on the situation.

This is something I hope to do, once I have a bit of time. Not a lot going spare at the moment, though.

Thanks for the feedback, I'll have a look into this. Songs shouldn't be able to repeat themselves until at least one other track has played.

Somebody asked for a tutorial. If you download the modding tools from CA's TW homepage there is a word file with a tutorial how to use the tools. Just in case...
