Rally Point - Episode 20: Free, new content and upcoming DLC announced!

Free-LC and exclusive announcements, that’s what’s on the menu for this video!



Believe it or not, we’ve done a grand total twenty episodes of Rally Point. Since it’s a big milestone of for us, we got some free content lined up for you guys: an interview with David Gibbins where he talks us through the battle of Pydna and we’re blowing the doors wide open on ‘boat load’ of new info.

It’s been a long and winding road this past 20 episodes. From the green-screen and extreme close up of episode one, to the suspect movember tash of RP8 through to meeting everyone at the Loading Bar of 16, we couldn’t have done any of this without all of you guys, so as we say in the episode thank you. For every like, every comment and every share, it’s been absolutely fantastic working on Rally Point for you all.

Here’s to twenty more.

why to not talk about what the community want/need ?
Political system for example ? new diplomatic options ? siege AI ? no ?
Are you so disconnected from the community you need to tease a rally point which don't talk about anything the community really want/need ? do you really read the forum (and not only the post from the fanboys who love everything you do) ?
I am so disappointed. After the "seasons and wonders" patchs, I really begun to think you try to regain the trust of your customers and start a new relationship with the community, based on what they need and not on what you want to do.
I am so disappointed.
All these teasers, this "double decker" things for a historical battle and a faction, and another dlc culture pack.
And modders are still waiting for the modding tools....

You would add more quality to the game if you reworked some of the mechanics (buildings, politics, unit collisions, characters) and AI rather than adding in even more factions, imo.

To add a new faction and a new roadster is the easiest thing to do. Even the modders can do it (And do it).

Tbh, it's kinda lame that to be able to use all the factions and units in MP, I would have to spend another £28 (would be more if I hadn't preordered or downloaded the nomads for free) on top of the £30 I already spent on the base game. It's not that great a disadvantage now since you have access to the best factions in vanilla, but it does lessen variety considerably. Furthermore, the Odryssians were very powerful during the first few weeks when people used the faction-unlock mod online, so here it actually is forcing people to pay to do well. If this is gonna be the route they're gonna go down then I'm probably just going to stop bothering as this DLC model is simply ridiculous.

To be fair in one sense, some people were in fact calling for something Illyrian/pirate/Dacian related, and it's somewhat out of the box for CA. I would perhaps be ok with this announcement if a culture pack entitled "Pirates and Raiders" actually added some pirating and real raiding to the game (not just a stance that subtracts income and public order). The current piracy does nothing. In Rome 1, there were actual pirate rebels you had to deal with. Considering the impact they had throughout the time period, you would it would mean more to the game than a pop-up at the start of a turn that says piracy is rampant somewhere in the world.

The Ardiae are pirates...so that means what? They are going to get a few naval vessels with a piratey theme?

Faction unlocking DLC is always going to draw the ire of the fanbase, and the people at CA have to have realized that at this point. A new campaign is interesting. New features/fixing some of the issues the game has are better. Factions that anyone can unlock and which mods have already done good rebuilds of? Not so much.

Getae/Pydna is free. The culture pack isn't.
