    Default Spruce up the Greeks?

Is there any intention to do this? It would make them more fun to play as, since their current roster isn't much better than vanilla.

I am trying to man the forum through satellite connection with a relay station in the middle, so in case the post looks garbled, please don't laugh too hard.

Since 7.0 release, the team has added these units to the Greek forces

    - Macedonian Amazon Mercenary Archers, both foot and mounted
    - Corinthian Mounted Heavy Amazon Archers
    - Ebeatos Palintonon, similar to Roman Caro Ballista, except instead of launching bolt, it shoots buck shots at closer range
    - Thracian Pikewomen
    - Dionysian Perke Maenadics, women fanatics from the Perke cult
    - mobile battle tower
    - regionally, African Meroitic Queen's Companion, Queen's Companion Chariots,
    - also regionally, African Meroe Kentake Guard
    - Ptolemaic Silver Shield Cohort
    - Ptolemaic Elephant Troop
    - Seleucid Cataphract Lancer
    - Field Trap (mine field)

In addition, we made the following mercenary units available to the Greeks

    - horde wagon
    - battle wagon
    - Amazon Mercenary Peltast
    - Renegade Amazon Lancer Mercenary
    - Celtic Amazon Chariots

Because we have problems of people writing reviews based on the custom battle roster, and claiming balance issues, not realizing that some of the custom battle's high tier units may not be available for hundreds of turns into the campaign, many units are either removed from custom battle or de-referenced. Some units are made available only if player is playing that faction.

So the appeared dearth of available units to the Greek factions can be misleading, especially if the player arrive at that conclusion only armed with the knowledge from the custom battle menu.

Here are some sample screen shots, 18+ viewer only
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

    Mobile battle tower

Ebeatos Palintonon (greek mobile shotgun ballista)

    Ptolemaic Elephant Troop

    Meroitic Queen's Companion

    Ptolemaic Meroitic Queen's Companion Chariot

    Perke Maenadic Fanatics

    Thracian Pikewomen

In addition to the above roster, the Greek could recruit Amazon Frontier Mounted Ballista Cavalry, or Amazon Border Horse.

Also Greek Ballista units consist of a battery of 8 ballistas, instead of 2 as in vanilla TW, and with much longer range and lethality. Greek Catapult Battery has minimum of 4 Onagers.

In the campaigns, the Greek forces are the only ones with artillery units from turn one. No other factions has such arrangement.

The dev-team's intention has always been trying to make the battle more integrated, and present perhaps other facets of the ancient battles, which is not just cavalry with CQB infantry slugged it out, but the combined synergy of mobility and firepower, as well as presenting the armor (meaning panzer tactics) plus engineering factor (in the form of mobile tower, wagons, and minefield).

Having said all that in the above posts, I do need to mention:

    - not all units I listed can be available to all Greek factions, example: Meroitic units are only available to Ptolemaic Egypt
    - certain units can only be made available with the establishment of certain cults, example: female none Amazon units can only be recruited if a cult tolerates as well as encourages/entices women to fight for their faction
    - most Greek Amazon units are really mercenary units, some are available for all other factions, such as the Amazon Heavy Peltast, some others are only available to the Greeks, like the Corinthian Amazon heavy horse archer
    - not all units can be mass recruited, like the Macedonian Ebeatos Palintonon, which can only be recruited in Pella, it does not make sense to me but that is how Cel programmed her campaign strategy settings.
