So I started playing Destiny 2 on PC in very late June, and I've been having a blast with it.
2 expansions have come out since release, with a third one coming out on September 3rd (but with some big changes on the 28th of August).

Does anyone else play it? What are your thoughts on it?

Yeah, I played it when it first came out for about 3 months. I quit early this year, clan drama, but the game itself was in bad state at the time anyway, with a severe lack of content. The first expansion really sucked too, well I thought it was average, but there really was barely any content in it. Maybe It's better now, but pricing is ridiculous.

So the next expansion, Forsaken, comes out tomorrow. Are any of you guys going to be playing it?

Forsaken is pretty awesome. They've reintroduced random rolls, and I've already got a pretty good SMG which I pair with the exotic grenade launcher, Fighting Lion, and a sword.
They've changed what weapons go in what slots, so if you want you have 3 shotguns or 3 sniper rifles.

Destiny 2 is free if you grab it between now and the 18th on the Battlenet app, and you get to keep it permanently.

In a few weeks once a few of you at at level 20 and have some good gear I could sherpa you through the first raid (or at least most of it, there's 1 encounter I can't do).

You can have fun without the three expansions. The Leviathan raid which you get with the base game is the best raid anyways, so you're not missing out on much and you get a lot AND its FREE.

Curse of Osiris only gives you the following:
Level cap increase from 20 to 25
A new planet - Mercury (which is fairly )
A short campaign (maybe 2 hours)
A grind to unlock 10 new weapons
    A few new exotics
A new raid "lair" which takes about 40 minutes to complete, called "Eater of Worlds"

    Warmind gives you the following:
Level cap increase from 25 to 30
    A new planet - Mars
A short campaign (maybe 2 hours)
A grind to unlock a few new weapons and sparrows
    A few new exotics
A survival mode/race the clock event called Escalation Protocol which requires 6 to 9 people to do.
A new raid "lair" which is absolute cancer and way too hard. I've only tried it twice and both attempts took 4+ hours. Its called "Spire of Stars" and is terrible.

    Forsaken gives you the following:
Level cap increase from 30 to 50
2 new planets - The Tangled Shore and the Dreaming City
A medium length campaign (8 hours maybe)
Lots of new weapons, armour pieces, sparrows and ships
    Quite a few new exotics
A survival mode/race the clock event called the Blind Well
A new raid called "The Last Wish" which I haven't tried yet
A really long and annoying grind.

Did anyone end up grabbing the game?

I have it and have done all the first year quests and I'm just starting Forsaken . I really enjoy it but it's so hard to get to maximum light without entering the crucible and doing raids. I'm a member of a clan but they don't do anything together . It's just a good way to get some engrams.

Since Bungo split from Activision a while ago, Bungo have decided to revamp how Destiny 2 works.
In September the third year of Destiny 2's lifecycle will start and the game is moving away from battle.net to Steam. All progress and DLC that you have bought will be transferred. If you want, you can also transfer your progress from PC to console and vice versa.

In addition, all Year 1 content will become free to play (Destiny 2, Curse of Osiris and Warmind).
Forsaken and the Annual Pass (Year 2) and the Year 3 DLC will still have to be bought individually.

Year 3 will be a new DLC, Shadowkeep, which is set on the Moon.

Destiny 2 Year 3 is upon it, and now everything from the first year (including the first 2 DLCs) are now free for everyone.

Does anyone find this game a tad overwhelming? I just purchased the new DLC after only doing the main storyline of the first few years and I just can't get my head around all the stuff that's going on . I just want to play on my own but everything seems to be focused on multiplayer.

I've watched my cousin play Destiny for hours, seems like a pretty decent game!
