QUALIFICATION PREDICTION
I did a little research. It would seem that only in the Americas is draws very common. UEFA, CAF and AFC are more in line with the World Cup. (There was one group in UEFA and one in CAF that were anomalies)
I proposed:

1 pt for guessing the result (win-draw-loss)
3 pts for guessing the correct score

I think it is much more difficult to guess the actual score. Instead of penalizing, we should reward an exceptional guess.
an additional point can still be added for guessing the correct result in knock-out phase of any competition.

I agree that you should not penalise someone for getting the wrong result or score. 1 pt for right result, 3 pts for correct score seems right. If you really wanted to, you could put all the prior results into that format to see if the same people are on top - I'm guessing mainly they will be (don;t have to post then, more as an exercise to prove it to yourself).

For kicks I went back and did it this "new" way. I kept people in their current order, but changed the numbers.
One anomaly: Wulf actually loss a point. My guess is that he earned bonuses for guessing correctly draws. (the prediction went from 2 pts to just 1).
It is also important to consider the possibility of people talking themselves out of a predicting a draw because thy fear the loss of a point. In this World Cup, there were 9 draws out of 48 matches. That's 1 draw for every 5.3 matches.

Means= the game ended after extra time 4-4 and Netherlands won on kicks from the spot resulting in a 5-4
if you mean to say 1-0 (pk) then that is a game that ends 0-0 after extra time. Note: we do not guess the the number of attempts made in a shoot out.

I should have 52 points, I got 8 points in the quarter finals.

France - Germany - 3 points for guessing winner, score and the game ending in full time
Brazil - Columbia 2 points for guessing winner and that game ended in full time.
One point for guessing that Netherlands will win
Two points from Argentina - Belgium, guessing the winner and that it ended in full time.
