Thread: World Cup 2014, Brazil

Brazil in 1982 did good though. They won every game but one, playing spectacularly. They had the bad luck to be put in a group with Maradona's Argentina and Italy, with Italy upsetting everyone in the end.

This year Brazil is doing very poorly.

Is today the day that Spanish hearts break?

What's wrong with the Dutch? I come home, it's 1-1 and Australia is the team playing.

Edit: 2-1 for Australia, I guess Chile will take place one in that group...

    Edit 2: Disregard that^^, what a game.

What is going on with this year's refereeing? The World Cup has always had its controversies but this is getting ridiculous. A clearly unintentional ball-to-hand is now worthy of a penalty? What even.

    Ugggh, what was that?

The referees are always in an anti-Dutch plot. Always.
    Miss me yet?

I'm starting to wonder if this "cure", isn't worse than the disease. It seems like just a fraction of penalties are actually given for fouls that frustrate realistic goal scoring opportunities.

That shouldn't have been a penalty, the Australians played pretty foul too, I really hope Spain recovered from their defeat and crush the Aussies into the dust, playing like the ultimate es should be properly rewarded with defeat...

Then, as throngs of his enemies bore down upon him and one of his followers said, "They are making at thee, O King," "Who else, pray," said Antigonus, "should be their mark? But Demetrius will come to my aid." This was his hope to the last, and to the last he kept watching eagerly for his son; then a whole cloud of javelins were let fly at him and he fell.

Amazing. When was the last time a defending and favorite World Cup Champion didn't even make the knockout stage?

It appears this World Cup will be a lesson in complacency. It's great to see how dynamic and unpredictable this tournament is, and even though they lost I don't think anybody expected Australia to give the Netherlands such a great match.
